Omega General Help / V6 engine swap: Looking for practical tips for removal and refitting
« on: 30 March 2013, 09:38:44 »
As title really...
I'm about to do an engine swap on my MVElite6. Going from 3L V6 Auto to 3L V6 manual.
Any of you guys got any tips for removal and re-fitting of the lump? Not worried about the connections as such, just the physical aspect of getting the lump out and back in.
I've removed several Carlton/Senator/Omega engines before but the shells were being crushed and I just dropped the front clip out. This time an engine needs to go back and I don't want to disturb the sub-frame or damage the bonnet slam panel.
Will be with box attached and I have an engine crane. Pedal box and clutch master cylinder will be fitted with engine out because access will probably be easier.
As always, advice greatly appreciated!
