Omega General Help / Re: Windows fogging up.
« on: 07 November 2012, 11:15:42 »
What is this aircon you all speak of?

Is it what my car should have if I ever got around to finding out where all the refrigerant escapes to? ;D

Yep. That would be it. My problem is that the windows seem to mist up when the heater fan kicks in. Have to turn heat and fan to max to stop windscreen misting completely. Its seems to be blowing out damp air even though the pollen filter is dry and I am not loosing coolant. Aircon compressor working at half its capacity is only reason I can think it's doing this.

Omega General Help / Windows fogging up.
« on: 06 November 2012, 13:59:28 »
Have a 01 3.2 with climate control. It's that time of year again when inside windows are very difficult to clear. A/C compressor was leaking gas which made the problem worse. I replaced it with one from the scrappy but that was almost as bad as the one I took off. Don't think there is much point trying another s/hand one so was wondering is there a reconditioned A/C compressor available that comes recommended?
Cheers,
James.

Price of fuel is killing the residuals on these. What a steal. Best of luck with it. :y

Very tidy. Super work. Best colour on Omega too IMO.

....... Tech1 can't see and identify the ecu  :o Airbag and ABS ECUs OK, Engine ECU not found.........

Most unusual that. Have you tried selecting 94 Omega 2.5 to see it that will work? Could be a bad wire between ecu & Tech1 plug. Paper clip probably won't work either if that's the case. Hard to know where to go without a fault reading :(

Couple of typo's in the link. Here you go. Your Omega seems to be a rather nice Vectra.

According to EPC the exhaust is the same for 3.0 and 3.2 from the CAT back. There should be no problem. There is an online parts catalogue you can check for yourself. http://opeloem.com/

Fair enough. Thanks for advice. :y

Got myself a self dimming mirror from a 07 Vectra. Want to fit it to my mig & but have 2 questions.
- What surround do you use around the mirror as the vectra one accomodates rain sensor and is way to long?
- The vectra has a ribbon going to the mirror instead of a wiring loom. Anybody tried to join wires onto one of these?

Cheers,

James.

Nice buy. Best of luck with it whatever you decide. The 04 will be class with that power plant but you may run aground with emissions when it comes to NCT. From 01 on the regulations tightened and the omege is fitted with 3.2 with different CAT set up. Better to put up a query with those in the know on here.
