Congratulation Andy!

Your girl looks very nice. My Sedan has the same color, but he is an old fighter. 281.000 km on the counter and nearly 20 years old. But I drove him through the MOT last year without any problems too. Next time it will be in August next year.

My little big girl is just 18 and she hopes to get as nice as your girl someday. Last summer we spent 2.000 km together and now she is sleeping in a garage for winter.

Last June we fight MOT and now she is wearing a pretty nice green label on her license plate. MOT 6/18

Have a nice evening

Hi Toledodude

Yes, I agree. I do not know the situation in U.K. but here in Germany most Omegas (special the PFL) are last hand drivers. So the series will die out over the next years. For example, here in my hometown (35.000 people) I knew only a handful PFLs.

Also my Omegas where "last hand drivers" as I bought them. But I invested a lot of time and money to hold these cars. I like them and I like to be a little different. No one else I knew did so much work into an Omega B. Some years ahead the situation will be complete different. Then laughing is on my side.....

Hi Dr Andy

What bedtime stories your girl prefer?

My big little Lady always asks for that Australian sport man I have to introduce to her. Should be nice to park beneath a Monaro or GTO.....

Well spotted.  Tyres are only 12 months old, but car does 1000mls a year and kept inside so max tread left still  :y  Should be OK for the next 17 Years  :D

Pretty happy with the Rainsports, not twitched and pretty sure footed with nice tread pattern - and of course "Sharkskin Technology" as says on the tyre ;D

Same here  Jon,on the odd occasion that I do see one around here, they tend to be just 'transport' and usually look pretty unkept which suggests that they are being run into ground, and it's probably next stop the breakers yard for most of them :'(

Hi nitro

Omega`s problem is: the car is still to cheap. So a typical Omega driver in Germany is a "drive & waste" user. We called those "last hand cars"

My Omega was also such a car when I bought her in a critical situation. But she saved my .... and became part of the family. Also my wife love this car and I am strictly forbidden to give the Ommi away.

But MOT runs out and I bought another Omega, a AT sedan. My first Omega I stored away. This year I found some time to rebuild. Just for fun I asked in a local workshop about the costs. Outstanding, could have bought 3 Omegas with 2 years MOT for this amount.

But I wanted not another Omega, I wanted this Omega, because she is part of my history. So did it all by myself.

But how many Omega owners can do that? A place is needed, tools are needed and the knowledge how to do.

Now my big little lady is my car for summer. The sedan (of course new MOT too) is for winter use.

Agree. but I'd also say that the costs cant be very low for maintenance. I ended up flushing my heater matrix out last night (yep, 30th November in the pitch dark - perfect timing!  :D) the cost to my wallet?...

Well a couple of bits of scrap hose I pinched of the old man and I boiled the kettle a few times. I got cold, but in terms of money it was free. Bring on more stuff like this, I say!  :y

I ran my 2001 2.6 CDX for 5 years the only failure was the HBV kept it serviced properly & it never let me down once although I love the Merc wish I could have kept the Mig as well.Cost peanuts for 5 years of luxury motoring. The 2.2 the wife had was a pain in the arse.

Seen 2 in my wee town here in Scotland, unfortunately one at least looked well bashed up, next stop probably breakers. When I seen it I thought it was abandoned but seen it driving later on. There is also one been lying in a driveway for a good few years now. Still looks ok, a bit mossy and flat tyres but probably would clean up nice.
