Y32SE rear exhaust box hangers
« on: 22 August 2016, 18:03:29 »

MOT passed today - hurray.  Two advisories - boo.  First involves a wire brush and some underseal on the chassis next to the steering idler - £0.  The other is to replace all thre hangers on the rear box as only one is in place and this is already badly split.  Question is, where to buy?  Any ideas?  Thanks

As my car is up for it's MOT i thought i'd check around the car for anything obviously missing or damaged. and much to my surprise neither of the rear rubber hangers were there. so off to Halfords and i bought two that were apparently for a ford escort and they fit a treat.

You will also need to replace the spring clips to stop the rubbers working loose again

Use a repair washer if going with jubilee clips.
Without extra retention my backbox hangers only stay in place for a few weeks. I made a couple of 25mm collars with a retaining screw because I was fedup with repeatedly fitting new hangers. Those bad tempered 5minutes on a Sunday evening have proved to be a permanent solution.
