Title: Only £355 a month, she said.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 06 September 2019, 17:32:02
From literally out of nowhere Mrs Opti has decided she wants a 'cute little Golf R' (her words)

Only £355 a month she said.......for 2 years, she said. If you really love me you'd buy it for me, she said. You'd buy it for my sister, she said (with venom)

I'll look into it, I said.

Women talk some crap and I wonder how many have ever visited planet Earth. In the real world the cost is £355 each month for 2 years PLUS an initial  deposit of 30%, which in this case is close to £11000. So, over a 2 year period this very humble runabout would cost in the region of £19500 in rent before it is handed back with SFA to show for it.

I have told her no.......and to stop being ridiculous.

However, if her sister does ask me to buy her the car I may find it hard to refuse her... :-* :-* :-* I hope Mrs Opti understands that's it's nothing personal 8) 8) 8)

Women, I simply don't understand them.

I'd write to my MP if I were you, they might get back to you after Brexit is sorted in 2025.

I'm not sure if 'Brexit sorted' means we leave the EU or we drop to out knees and 'return to the EU fold' :-\

Both you and I will probably be 6 feet under by then.

how ungrateful
after you did all that welding round the battery of the corsa
just say that parts won't be available for VW cars after brexit in a few weeks , so she can stick with the corsa or have a Reliant Robin  :y

Women have very limited knowledge of cars, Dave. A 16 year old Corsa will look very similar to a new Golf for most women. :)

Buy her an early Golf R... About 2003 vintage. Throw a £250 private plate on it and tell her how lucky she is  :y

This thread got me looking, you can have a golf R DSG for £303pcm plus £3050 down payment on a 3yr 8k p.a. lease. A much more modest £13,900 over 3 years.

Surely a pittance to a man such as yourself  M'lud?!

An awful lot of car for that kind of money, if I weren't driving the equivalent of London to Sydney and back again (the long way around) each year, I might consider it. Oh, I'd also have to lose a stone or two to get my ar$e in the seat  ::)
