Omega General Help / Self levelling headlight
« on: 24 July 2020, 10:26:12 »
Replaced both level sensor on car for headlights and still have no error message on dash

Low fld vis

When ignition turned on and turn headlights on they move slightly down slightly jerky stop then message is on screen on dash.

Could it be anything other than sensors on arms as said both been replaced. Little arms are staying attached.

Omega General Help / Air con woes v6
« on: 06 July 2020, 19:30:40 »
After a few attempts and various aricon places i still have yet to sort my air con working on omega

From another post ive gather the following list so things to check and do...

In order of common failure.
Condenser (replaced 18month ago)
Hp/LP valves, HP valve gums up needs cleaning with carb cleaner,,
LP fit a new core, (fitted new one 18months ago)
Pipe under battery box along chassis rail.

Connecting block were dryer is bolted to condenser, leaks.
Compressor seals, and seals were pipes join.(new seals and new drier fitted last week)

 Pressure sensors, just stop working.
Expansion valve, up behind dash/glove box.
Evaporator,, very rare to go, whole dash out to replace.

Also check electric plug on bottom of compressor, for broken wire. (Checked and actually swapped for another compressor i knew was good and filled with pag oil before refit)

So as of now it has a new comprsssor new dowdy seals.
New rad
New drier new seals
New valve core

Vaccumed.... held
Regassed

Freezing cold was shocking cold.
48hrs later clutch not engaging.

What would people say is the way forward. Swap a sensor. Or try swapping pipework etc.

Omega General Help / Catalytic convertor v6
« on: 25 June 2020, 07:35:05 »
After some info.

On my 3.2 mv6 i always had issues with light being on (precat issue) decided for a change at 130k

I swapped to 3.0 downpipes but were copy cats no oem (poor quality i know) car went better  but cats rattled and light still on  so in the emd i decided go back to stock GM 3.2 downpipes.

Refitted but move second lambda boss post main cat. Whalaaa 10k later and still not had light on dash and no rattles from cats.

Now heres the issue.. since fitting them again (original Gm 3.2 pipes) definetely feels a lil down on power not as responsive and when it has a session of hard driving ( only has to be a mile or two) right under car where cats are you can feel heat standing by car it gets really hot. And has a slight smell.

Had this on other cars when cats are blocked or failing and wondering if it is a sign of the cats being past their best or just is what it is.

If they are due replacing whays best option. Do i buy approved new pattern cats.

Do i cut out gm cats and install sports cats in down pipe
buy 3.0 downpipes and have a o2 adaptor to move sensor aeay or something else ??

Any suggesstions or ideas be welcome

Cheers in advance

Omega General Help / Strange sreering behaviour
« on: 19 January 2020, 06:29:59 »
When going around a bend at pace car turns in then kind of slides or pulls it self half way around corner (turns again with no more input) as if something is loose or moved underneath front end and you need to quickly adjust steering.

Terrified me other day.

Gonna get it jacked up as assess all joints this week but has anyone else had anything similar.

Tyre all all good 1 year old dunlop sport max rt2
Wishbones droplinks steering arms tied rod centre bar and idler arm all new in past 12 months.

Omega General Help / Mv6 update suspension
« on: 30 December 2018, 11:00:03 »
So did a front end overhall other week on my dad old mv6 now mine.

137k and was on original everything facelift model so ran lsc springs and shocks

Fitted new delphi wishbones
New meyle tie rods
New centre tie bar
Delpi drop links
Febi bilstein top mounts
B4 shock
And eibach springs all around (rear springs fitted 6mm spacer cnc machined so rear not to low)

Car sits well

Fitted 4x new dunlop sport max rt2 tyres
And i aligned it

Camber -1.2
Toe -1mm overall

Car drives spot on handles well lot smoother no jigglyness anymore from loose joints and steering a lot more precise

Its made a vast improvement

But i have one little issue

Low speed or stationary sttering wheel movements i get a groaning or clunk type sound. Doesnt do anything driving around at speed or over speeds bumps

Just off centre wheel turns when stationary or if parking car at sub 10mph situations sounds like something loose but checked all my joints since doing it.

Anyone got any ideas.

« on: 14 November 2018, 19:45:02 »
My MV6 Is on original mv6 shocks and springs at 137k

car rides ok and isnt sagging.. still got rake and put four adults and boot of luggage is still ok

does anyone know the stock ride height of mv6

mine with handbrake on on flat ground measured from ground to centre of arch
front  663mm
rear 674mm

is this rufly right what should they be new mv6 wise?

im in process of replacing all suspension.. wishbones, idler arms, steering links, top mounts, bushes. And im going to fit new shocks and eibach springs.

but im going to fit thicker insulating bushes to SPRINGS try and get eibach spring sitting rufly as std MV6. but obviously they be a tad stiffer which be nice
