It reminds me of a large Rover, especially looking at the lines of the back end! :D :D ;)

Similar side profile to a Rover 75 although the Rover better looking :y

You know you've hit rock bottom when you find that you prefer a Rover 75.  ;D

Indeed! ;D ;D ;D

I looked up the facts about that Rover 75, and was surprised it was only produced over just 7 years.  I was also shocked to read it is considered as Rover's brands  "best models"!! :o :o  It has also a strong following on Rover Clubs ;)

I rather liked them, but they were too much money for something that didn't have a BMW, Merc or Audi badge.  ::)

There was also a very small number produced with the same 4.6l V8 that was in the P38 FFRR of the day. Quite an undertaking when you consider that all other variants of the car were FWD!

why shocked? They're just what a 90s Rover should be, and are excellent cars as a result. A manual, 1.8t 75 estate is top of my list as an Omega replacement as it ticks the same list of requirements that the Omega did 10 years ago. I don't like the MGs because of their ugly cheap interiors and uncomfortable suspensions. V6s don't add enough to the turbo 4 pot to be worth the large increase in running costs.

The 4.6 was out of a Ford Mustang and could be super charged to 400 + ponies if desired

I always thought the MG variants didn't really have the go to back up the big wheels and spoilers, a bit all mouth and very little trouser...

That said, i always thought the V6 to be an ok lump for what it was.

The 4.6 was out of a Ford Mustang and could be super charged to 400 + ponies if desired

I stand corrected, I'd always thought it was the same GM derived lump that went into a million other things in various capacities (inc 5.0 in TVR iirc).

Head gaskets were always a weakness on the K-series I seem to remember, or are better parts now available to cure the issue?

Latest gaskets have all but finished those issues :y

Yes, the one we had was shod with 18" very low profiles, £180 a corner even back then. And it ate the front ones in 10,000 miles. It was quite quick, but not as quick as the rover 623Sli we had with the 2.3 Honda engine. That was really torquey.
