General Car Chat / Re: F/L irmscher front bumper
« on: 17 August 2017, 20:26:11 »
Personally, I like the MV6/Sport bumper out of all choices available for the FL. It's not too much in your face in a 'chavvy' way and not bland like the standard bumper. I do like the Irmcher rear bumper though and if one came up that ticked all the boxes i'd go for it.

But on the right car that's clean with all the irmy kit and wheels, they do look good. But they just look a little over the top for me personally for my own car, I do like to look at others with them on though. Also, like the Steinmetz FL Omega kit.

They seem to be pretty quick these 2.0 Diesel Astra J's especially remapped... Awhile back one of these 2.0D kept up and overtook me going flat out up a clear two lane hill not easy but was gradually pulling away. Although at the time my suspension was soggy so had to let off..  ::) .... Oh and the white Astra J in question had a baby on board sign swinging away on the back screen  :o

This Astra might be too powerful for uncle STEMO?  ;D

Sign of the times.

In the early 90's my father was working in Sweden and bought a sierra xr4i to go with. At the time you could buy a sapphire cosworth for little more (about £4K at the time for a c3-4yr old one). He chose not to purely because the one he wanted could not be prepped in time for him to take away.

These are now fetching £50k plus in some cases.

Similarly, a friend's father scrapped a number of jaguar e-types in the early 80's when no one wanted them. All cars have their time, take a massive slump and then some rise again. I have no idea if omegas will rise again, but they are certainly having their slump now!

They sure are.

I've seen many 3.2 Elites for example for around £200 - £500 price range and some look pretty good from the pictures (this year).

When i bought one of my 3.2 Elites around May 2013 it was £700. So they have definitely been going down in value. Even ones in pretty good overall condition examples are now around £600-£1,000 where as a few years ago you'd be looking around £1,500 - £2,000.

How much cheaper will they get I can't say? ...I'd like to think the nice looked after examples will gradually increase in value soon. We will just have to wait and see...

Then again take the Senator for example. They are far and few between especially clean looked after examples. I did find this one for just under £7,000 and it does look good. So maybe there is hope for the Omega for example in similar condition in the future.

Stunning! Don't see many Omegas these days in this condition unless owned by enthusiasts. It's a credit to you!  :y

Dent doesn't seem to have damaged the paint from what can be seen in the video, Possibly PDR would sort it out say £40.

imgbb.com seems to work ok, There is a 16mb limit. Although this won't be a problem 95% of the time though.  :y

Had a quick look.

One sensor is definitely not working and I'm not sure about another (possibility working intermittently) where as 2 sensors are working as they should.

I do have a spare Omega with 4 fully working sensors and that's working as it should but that car is currently off the road / spare car. The bumper isn't in as good a condition as the one on the car I use so swapping the whole thing over isn't really an option. Are they easy enough to remove/fit?

I'll check over the wiring firstly etc... Before doing anything else.

Thanks for the replay, Sorry I've not had a chance to respond or look into this yet due to a bereavement.

I'll try the methods suggested above and take it from there  :y

If one of the sensors appears to be faulty can these be bought easily enough or used only?

Thanks again.

PS: TB I'm not sure what you mean by refused the link?

Here's a small clip with the beeping sound it makes with the purple fuse removed, Presumably some kind of error code?

With the fuse in place there's just a constant beep sound.

4 advisories here on a 51 plate with 209k (mainly lose surface rust in various locations on the underside, No mention of the sills.)
