Think it was about 95/96 they changed. About the same time they changed the locking to radio rather than infra red. My 95 had the amp in the tailgate with no standard roof aerial.

Sounds about right, probably also worth adding, that some early PFL Estate that were CD spec upwards may have had an Aerial mount on the Roof if fitted with a HU + Phone, the roof twig was for phone use and was totally isolated to the HU Radio aerial on the rear screen.   ;)

Small update: havent really have time to check it out. Just got home from work. But measured the voltage in the wire again today and now it only showed 0,06 volts with radio off. And display shut down correctly. Seems to work better in dry weather. Anyway removed the back seat to look for wiring and found a huge pool of water and mud:( found rustholes to both rear wheel houses:p dont know if this is the problem, but the mud/water sludge under the seat didnt seem to do the rear heated seats much good at least:p theres also water on much og the rest of the floor. The joy of 20 years on norways salted roads:( think the next step will be to get someone to weld the rust and try to dry out the floor and see how the electrics work after that.

Finally solved the problem:) was several cracked/broken wires in the floor on the european passenger side floor(uk driver side). They were also soaked in water and had corroded badly. Fixed the wires and dried up the water around Them and now the display works fine. It also cured my slow and unreliable central locking. Now it locks and unlocks all doors first time every time:) off to the welder next week to fix the holes in the floor. Many thanks for all advice.
