Omega General Help / Fan Blower Clicking

Having replaced my Radiator yesterday, last night I turned on the heating when I got home from a drive to make sure heating was nice and toasty still only to have the missus say theres a clicking noise coming from behind the airbag area.

Heating still works.

I am assuming the blower unit is the culprit and something has got caught up or its on its way out.

How easy is it to remove the Blower Unit?

Planning to have a look at it after work.

Omega General Help / ABS Light

The ABS light came on last night and keeps coming on when ignition is switched on, can anyone tell what could be causing this and whether there would be any codes in the ecu I could read.

Check light on MID goes out when I press the brakes so the pad sensors work.

The car itself appears to be pulling up ok.

Would this be related in some way to the speed sensors, the speedo seems to be working fine.

Any Suggestions would be most appreciated

Omega General Help / Manifold Stud Thread Repair

Whats the recommended dare I go to Vx to get it done or could I do it.

Been on my list of things to do for a while.

Although I am not getting any kind of popping noises I would feel much happier with all the studs in place.

If I can do it can anyone suggest the right tool for the job.

Any responses would be most appreciated

Omega General Help / Temperature Gauge Advice

Had the Black omega ticking over last night and the gauge was not doing what it should the car was hitting 90 degrees then sitting there, I left the car running then the fans kicked in when engine was hot.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Could this be the sender unit knackered that sits behind the dis pack.

The Black omega has the standard wiper stalk without the roller wheel for the intermittent speed, if I can get my hands on one of these will it need a new relay for it to work.

Omega General Help / Nixoro newest project

Now as many may know I now have 2 omegas one I bought as a cheap fixer upper.

Mainly doing this one up for my Dad as he like mine.

Another 2.0 16v on an M plate in Black. Interior is mint and the bodywork has a few rust marks.

Most of the main stuff has been done on it such as Cambelt and waterpump, exhaust manifold, Catalytic Convertor.

Brakes, tyres need sorting and the gear change.

Gear change is slightly jumpy, my first thoughts were clutch slipping but not 100% it is, was thinking do a fluid change to see if this makes life any better. My other car clutch was not as bad as this one, still I may just get it done for peace of mind.

Any other Ideas would be most appreciated

Omega General Help / Auto dimming Rear View Mirror fitting.

I have had one sat in my boot for a while now just never got round to fitting it.

Can anyone help with which wire goes where. So far I have put on the mount to make sure thats ok it just needs to be wired in.

I plan to use connectors on cut wires so if I want to keep it I can just remove and use on my next car.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Omega General Help / Ignition key problem

Not sure if I have posted in the right section but here goes.

Basically when I go to put my key in the ignition usually it just turns without a problem but now not all the time but most of the time I have to turn the key at least twice to get the ignition to turn on, nothing wrong with the immobiliser its as if the key is jamming when the key is turned.

Does this sound like I am going to need a new ignition barrel.

Any Suggestions would be most appreciated.

Early shape Projector Headlights in good condition no visible damage to lugs etc £40 ono

Early Shape Saloon Elite full leather interior in Black in good condition, three button memory on drivers seat and more, tested before it was removed £85 ono

Early Shape Passenger front door Star Silver Z146 or Z147 from memory in almost mint condition the rubber appears to have come unclipped at base of door and signs of rust where clips are which are not seen, no rust along window strip  though or dents. £40 ono

Some of this maybe useful to someone (Please pm or email for photo's if your interested).

The parts were removed from my 97 P reg omega before sale.

Collection is preferred due to size of items

Prefacelift elite seats with memory.

Due to the recent sale of my car I removed the leather interior and this is now up for sale.

Ideally looking for £100 not sure what they are worth really.

The seats are in pretty good condition, all the seats were tested before removal and were working as they should.

Hi

Not been on the site for a long time since I sold my Omega on, now bombing about in a Zafira due to the family growing.

Having looked on here briefly looks to be more facelift omegas than the earlier pre facelift omega's.

I'm curious if people are still running the earlier shape omega as I have a leather interior still and projector headlights sat in my back room gathering dust.

Was tempted to list up in the for sale section but need to confirm there is still peeps running about in the earlier omega's before I list never know someone maybe interested.

What would you guys say more facelift omega's to pre facelift?

Shall be popping in from time to time
