... For cyclists!
Working the week in The Hague and i have brought my bike. Boy do they hate motorists, 30 euros a day for parking. Cyclists everywhere! If as a pedestrian you walk in to a cycle lane here and get knocked over, you are liable. Free council-run underground secure storage for my bike. Cycle paths that are actually fit for purpose and get used, a lot! The rear tyre was a bit flat, outside a bike shop.... Free compressed air!
Bi gron would absolutely love it here ;D
Now, if only their women were fit and they made nice beer...

See, I told you that you should have taken me, I could have carried the Beer ::) ;D

My memories of cycling in Holland were the immense piles of random bikes "parked". Can't imagine how you got yours at the end of the day especially if you had to leave early!

I am loving moving about on bike even if not wearing a helmet is a little weird (tis not the done thing here apparently) but finding a parking spot where I can attach my bike to a proper structure intended for cyclists is quite challenging.

My mate used to live in Den Haag, I visited a few times and it's a great place! :y
Try and get down to Scheveningen, there's a bar called The Piano Bar (I think?) and the scenery is great! 8)

We could have it like that in UK if it wasn't so hilly and it didn't rain 10 months of the year lol! I was out there and noticed the bike lanes run alongside the roads and sometimes the railway too, they are all billiard flat and NO potholes - anywhere. Very efficiently planned unlike here in UK, where they paint a couple of lines on a pavement and then hope for a revolution in transport!

Yes I've been around a bit. :)
Anybody thinking of going to Amsterdam for a weekend should consider The Hague as an alternative, as it's pretty similar but without the hoards of tourists. :y
Scheveningen (Pronounce that after a few beers! :o ;D) is a beach town about 20 minutes on the tram or a quick bike ride for Guffer! The seafront has a long row of different beach bars which are very cool! 8)

No sign of Bigron today on this thread, so I reckon he is currently on a ferry to Holland with his push bike to test out their first class cycling facilities. ::) ::) ::)

Just read the title and thought you had taken up bingo for a minute ::) :D

Is the "coffee" and "window-shopping" as good, though? ;)
