Hi all...
How easy/hard is it to remove the front offside wing. Whilst I have been away, some low life cretin has dented the front wing just aft of the headlight.

Head light and trim, bumper, sill trim and wheel arch liner off then undo all the now visible bolts.
Middle one on trailing edge will require moving the carbon canister to one one side- all accessed from the wheel arch. Top one on trailing edge is from the door side, and requires careful use of a 1/4" extension.
Sounds like alot of work, but is all pretty straight forward :y

Tony, I have done this a couple of times on past omegas with great success. My opinion of this is you cannot really do any harm , it's just nuts & bolts & a bit of levering here & there as I remember :-\ The 2 that I have replaced have been the other side though. The fact I have done it succesfully means it must be easy ;D ;D

If thats Z20 Blue or what ever the code is, I binned 2 front wings only a couple of months ago. :(

Yes Steve...tyres are down, possibly the misses drifting corners, but having three cars, I swap them around as needed. :D
The dent is definitely a reversing incident. I have two suspect cars to check when they get home. A third is not here often, but comes visiting occasionally. You can see the exact angle its been hit at, reversing from the drive opposite. Its gonna be hard to prove, but its a coincidence that the owner of the two drives opposite was in Devon, and had authorised his next door neighbours to use one.
They would not be used to the tight turn to avoid my car.
An impact from the front would have damaged the whole wing, as would from the rear. The front bumper is untouched as is any other part of the car.
You may say I am making too much out of it, its only a car.....but its my first Omega, that I have treasured for seven years, and kept in tip top nick. >:(

Unfortunately, the damage is light enough for them to possibly not have noticed, especially with heater/radio on :-\

Still got the Bumpers and Sills kicking around somewhere, but doesn't really help.

No need to remove the headlight, I never have and I've swapped a fair few wings. As mentioned the headlight trim has to be removed though to allow the bumper to be dropped.

Agreed, but it is easier if you don't need to manhandled it off and on around the light ;)

When you say the bumper has to come off, does it have to come totally off, or will it release one side to allow access.

If you remove the arch liner fixings, headlight trim and one clip near the grill/bonnet and one or two underneath you can usually lower it enough - tip is to put a clean cloth over the top edge of the bumper so the wing doesn't scratch it.
Thing is, if you do the above your only a couple of fastenings, the washer jet pipes and unplugging the loom from the N/S away from taking the bumper off completely.... which will allow you to clean / rust convert / paint / seal any rusty bits you encounter.

I do have a contact, Steve, but I thought it would be a bit expensive. I'll probably get a quote, but with the fella in question, I have seen him go home in customers cars, and I know he really likes the blue estate. So I don't want it being used as a runaround..
I have facilities to respray another wing, which are available for around £50, plus the paint. Or I could get him to spray the wing first, or after fitting. :y

Have you tried Kevin in Notts, He's probably got wings, may have one in your colour.
