Having had the oil light start to flicker with a hot engine, decided to change the oil pressure switch and that's when I noticed fresh oil on the tray thing at the front just behind the radiator. I can't smell burning oil, so I don't think it's running over a hot engine. Any pointers as to where it might be coming from? Thanks.

I'm about to investigate a similar leak and have the front crankshaft seal in mind as the most likely culprit, as the oil is also sitting on the top of the sump rim.
Lack of breather maintenance/cleaning can cause this, and I suppose means a replacement seal. Not necessarily the only cause however.
Have you noticed an unusual drop in engine oil level?

Yes, oil level warning came on on Sunday. Hadn't thought of the crankshaft seal, sump rim does look a bit oily.
Puzzling thing is that there is an air gap between the sump rim and this tray thing where the oil is sitting and I am wondering how it could jumped the gap.

First point of call, and usually the most likely place for a leak on the front end - oil pressure switch seal dribbling down on to the sump ledge and plastic cover. Front crank seal is a possibility, but more than likely you'd have spotted that when changing / inspecting the cam belt. :)

And changing it takes a couple of minutes and a £4 part.
The crank seal is about a tenner, but is a lot more work. Undoing the crank pulley bolt can be quite challenging.

Thanks for the responses. :y Crankshaft seal was dry six months ago when the cambelt was done. Hopefully it will turn out to be the oil pressure switch.
