General Car Chat / Re: Dashcam Query

You need a real perspective lens, a monitor and a camera that can be zoomed in or out, better still, buy an ex-police camera system. These are relatively inexpensive and give the user the ability to do that human thing of looking with your own eyes and zooming in or out until the view on the screen is pretty much what you are seeing.

To the viewer at a later date, certain reference points in the image will make it clear whether the camera is showing a realistic picture or a distorted view that is zoomed in too far and therefore making the following vehicle appear closer than it appears. If you wanted to be really technical you could have used the same principles with the images you have to show what the clown behind was actually doing and believe it or not... even magistrates can understand that drawing  ;D

Continuing with the restoration of the 04 estate, 3.2 V6 Special, ex-police, Collision Investigation Unit from Thames Valley.

Removed all of the trim needed to get to the nuts that hold the roof bars on, (which are now free to a good or bad home if you need them, message me) Removed all of the gutter trim, rear side windows, light bar, grille, headlights and now on to the bumpers tomorrow. Then on to the prep for painting.

Newbie Welcome Area / Just a quick hello from a newbie.

Hello All,

Been in the motor trade my whole life, never joined a car club ever. Almost by accident I own three... yes three Omegas, ridiculous I know, all ex-Thames Valley Police. One fully restored 3.2 V6 manual estate, completely restored back to as it was the day it rolled out the station for the first time and ready to be sold. Complete with livery, radios, lights, sounds, tracker and the whole singing and dancing show, right down to the double Maglite torches. Sad in some ways I know but amazing to drive and really good looking.

I have two others in progress, a saloon of the same model and another estate from the Collision Investigation Unit. Almost there with the estate.

Anyway, that's probably everybody asleep so I'll leave you there!
