I paid about £340 for two Triumphs, a 2000 and a 2500, plus a 2001 Omega 3.0 elite with RH Insurance. The Triumphs are on 3000 miles p/a and the Omega was on 6000 miles, I have since sold it and got a refund of just over £200 on the Omega policy a month after renewal in July this year. I added the Omega to the Triumphs policy when it was almost eleven years old back in 2012, but I'm not sure if they are offering those rates and terms to new customers today.

This is actually my car, but I didn't have enough posts to advertise it on here  ::)
If anyone's interested, PM me on here or call the number in the ad.

I cant really say whether that is the right tool or not, but I'm sure someone will be along soon to let you know.
In the meantime, I'll try Matt again tomorrow and I'll PM you my mobile as I dont always get on here everyday.

Update: Keith, my colleague who did my 3.0 omega 18 months ago will take the job on with the proviso that you can beg, borrow or steal a cam locking tool. I havn't managed to get in touch with Matt yet regarding borrowing his. IIRC, I think the labour charge for mine was £100, and a bargain £80 for the belt & tensioner kit from Vauxhall (nos).

I will ask Matt (minifreek on here) if he still has the cam locking tool he lent me 18 months ago, he may have sold it as he doesn't have an Omega any longer. I can also ask a colleague of mine if he's interested in doing the work, but you'll have to source the parts and locking tool yourself and bring the car to Wigan. A bit nearer for you if he is available!
Regards, Dave.

Omega General Help / Re: Failed MOT advice (Emissions)
« on: 04 March 2018, 17:30:34 »
My 3.0 elite failed on exactly the same thing back in 2010. A new part system from the cats back secured a pass without any further work. The old system was pin-holed quite badly allowing air to be drawn in, affecting the lamda readings.

Dont forget, if you fit an isolator, you wont be able to unlock the car with the remote buttons on the key, unless it has a small fused bypass, which would defeat the object really, as it would also allow battery drain over long idle periods.
Whatever you do, dont deadlock it and then isolate the battery and close the bonnet, or you'll have fun getting back in.  :'(

I know where you're coming from, any longer than about three weeks standing and my Omega's battery is flatter than a witches t*t, and yes I have binned the powersounder!

Other suppliers are available of course.

I've had some sucess with these in the past as a temporary repair. They stop the linkage knuckle joints coming apart.

General Discussion Area / Re: New advert

Seen the latest advert for a well known breakdown service[the one with yellow vans]which features a little lass strapped in her car seat in the back of dads car and she's "singing"along to Tina Turners Rolling On The River.Think it's a well done advert-or maybe it's just the soundtrack I'm liking.

Its actually called 'Proud Mary', but we know what you mean. 8) Good ad.
