Should the front and rear fog light switches on my 99 elite be illuminated? The head light switch is but both fog light switches are not. If they should, are they repairable with new bulbs etc. if they are blown?

Hi all, are updated discs available for the sat nav in my '99 Elite? I believe it's the Philips Carin system, that has the small screen by the head unit. Where is the best place to get one from?

Omega General Help / What colour should the trims be?

Hi all,

Can anyone confirm what colour the plastic trim should be on at the top of the rear bumper on my pre-facelift Elite. It's a sort of grey at the moment and most others I've seen appear similar. I'm just wondering if it would have been black originally and has faded in the sun.

Omega General Help / Coolant low message

Hi all, I've just replaced the coolant  & expansion tank for a brand new one and now I keep getting the coolant low message on the display. The coolant level is fine and I checked the connection to the expansion tank sensor and all seems fine, I even disconnected the battery to see if that would clear the message but it hasn't, so is the expansion tank sensor knackered or have I missed something? Thanks

One of my remote keys has stopped working, fitted a new key battery but it still doesn't work. What's the best/cheapest way of getting a replacement? Car is '99 Elite 3.0 with a 2 button key, many thanks for all help and suggestions.

Omega General Help / Self levelling suspension advice req'd

The self levelling rear suspension seems to keep jacking itself up. I tested it as per the maintenance guide and although it raises itself ok it fails to drop when the sensor arm is dropped down, it does the same with another sensor I have. Would this indicate that the pump is faulty and is not releasing the air pressure, all help greatly appreciated

Hi folks, is there anywhere I can get more info on the climate control system on a 99 elite 3.0 v6? Ideally I would like diagrams/pictures showing how all of the different parts are linked together. Any help will be much appreciated.

Omega General Help / Odometer not working

The odometer and trip meter has stopped working on my 99 Elite 3.0. All the other instrument functions work fine.

I recently had the oil level sensor replaced, so I'm wondering if they've done something that could cause these symptoms.

If not where should I start investigating?

Omega General Help / Thermostat renewal problems

I tried to renew the thermostat last week on my 3.0 V6 but got really stuck trying to remove the coolant pipe. I couldn't  pull it to the side as stated in the Haynes joke book as the dipstick tube is in the way and catches on the lug that bolts to the cylinder head. How have other members got around this? Is there a knack to it?

Omega General Help / ALARM QUERY

A collegue has a S reg 2.5 estate. He says that his alarm always arms itself after a couple of minutes even if the doors aren't locked, for example, stop car, get out shut door, leave unlocked for a few minutes, return to car, open door, reach inside, alarm sounds.

He has had the car since it was 9 months old and says it's always done it. Is this normal and is there anyway it can be prevented from happening. I'm sure my '99 elite doesn't do this.

Omega General Help / Rear suspension too high

Hi all,
I've just replaced the rear shocks on my Elite with new self levellers from Vx, but now it seems to sit too high. It looks as if the rear is being pumped up to max. all the time. Is this likely to be the load sensor that's faulty or could it be some thing else? Does anyone have any dimensions of what an unladen car should be so that I can check this out?

Hi all, newbie here, the check oil warning message keeps appearing on my display despite the fact that the oil is up to the max. mark. Is there a simple fix for this or is it likely that the sensor is duff? If it is the sensor, does the sump have to be removed to replace it? What kind of price is the sensor? Car is a '99 3.0 Elite. Thanks for any help

Omega General Help / Automatic climate control display

Hi there, new member here with his first Omega, '99 a 3.0 elite.

Sorry if this has been covered on here a million times before, but my digital display illumination for the climate control is perfect on the drivers side, non existant on the middle and dodgy on the passenger side. Are the digital displays lit up by bulbs or will I have to replace them totally?
