Time has come to part with it. I've set my sights on a v8.

£1700 takes it.  ;)

Hi all,

the auto transmission was removed by the previous owner of my car and put into a manual one. TC doesn't work , my questions are : was there any electric connection between the transmission and ABS/TC block needed to proper operation? Can I use TC with manual gearbox?

cheers  Laszlo

Make your own bloody topic!  >:(

plugged mine in to find the abs fault but it doesn't store anything, am i right in thinking its the old hall sensor type?
No need for that mate. He`s a relatively new member and not in the UK.
Thank god the majority of us haven`t got the same attitude :-X

Was actually a joke....... Guess not everyone is as light hearted.......

Its now becoming clearer. After some blind prick pulled out on me this morning and i had to bury my foot into the carpet the abs light came on and stayed on....

Time for a plug in.  ::)

tc light -

light should be OFF by default
going to ON when you press the TC button to disable the system

I take it you mean it wont illuminate whatever you do?

Guess you need to get it on a decent code reader that will talk to the ABS ECU to see whats up.

I reckon if it was faulty, the light should be on, so my 1st instinct is the switch may be faulty.

Tried a bulb I knew worked for certain, its supposed to illuminate when off irrc. didnt do anything at all. looked at the switch wiring seems fine and pressed it etc.

I suspect they are permentlyy on and someone has therefore removed the bulb.

I would get the car on a good code reader and work out why and fix the problem

ABS lights not working is an MOT failure  :y

So is having no cats, But that's never been a problem ;)
iirc its only a fail if it illuminates and doesn't go out.
I'll try some bulbs anyway when i work out how to removed the clocks.

Since I got the car these have never worked. It doesn't really bother me as I like to drive without aids. However I do like things to work if they should..

I've checked the fuse for it and that's fine. however the dash bulbs don't illuminate and pressing the TC switch does nothing. Am I right in assuming the bulbs form part of the circuit and Perhaps try replacing/inserting these first?

I think even on the 2l the clocks are electronic etc.

Could be a faulty cts (coolant temp sensor)
Check the wiring to it or replace they're only cheap

Where do i find the CTS and related wiring??? :-?

Is yours the x20xev engine?

It should be (having to think as its mounted different to my calibra i had)

On the opposite end to the cambelt.
You will have the ecu one which has a 2 pin blue plug. then the one for the gauge which will be a single terminal.
