erm a facelift cdx should have intermittant wipers!

unless...

Have you got rain sensors?  that would cause you not to have variable...

Mine hasn't, not variable anyway, and have been looking to carry out this mod for some time now ::)

Is it a pre-facelift car on a V or a facelift?

I can't comment on the facelift, but on the pre-facelift then the wiring is in place in the boot already - a small multipin connector tucked up in the LH corner.

Just plug the connector in, plug in the switch and you are away with no fuse to plug in.

I did one to a '97 model some years ago.

HTH

Same on the facelift, plug and play :y

hi guys - another newbie here - with a problem!
I've changed what was a totally flat/knackered battery, everything in the car works with new one fitted, except for one small very annoying thing - the alarm will not stop sounding! Anyone got info on how to reset this?

This usually happens when you failed to disconnect the battery within 30 seconds when doing a battery replacement. Try resetting your alarm with this guide:

First, disconnect the battery (if its not already disconnected) and try to find the Valet button of your car. This is usually located on the dash panel left of the steering column. Have it in the OUT position.

Next, reconnect the battery. The alarm would go off, but don't panic yet. We can fix that.

Third, you turn the ignition key to the ON position then push the Valet Button to the IN position. This would reset the alarm. The Valet Button should now glow red.

Move the Valet Button to OUT position again. You would need to move it from IN to OUT position again until the Valet Button becomes unlighted.

Once that is done, you can start the car normally and the alarm would be deactivated.

Just need to find my 'valet button' now ........  ::)  ::)  ::) ;)  :y

The only button I can think of that he might be referring to would be the one which disarms the interior sensors, I for one haven't got any other buttons which are connected to the alarm :-/

hi does any one know how hard it os to fit above to a cd model 2001 i had one in the cdx and found it useful for keeping the car cooler

I've fitted one to my CDX -  only couple of little problems were that the wiring plug connector was different as the blind came from a pre-facelift and the slot for the seat belt cover needed adapting slightly so that the trim piece clipped in properly :y

Wiring should be up under shelf in boot on left hand side :y

As said, get the dash switch (about £10 from Vx) which is plug and play :y

Other than that it was pretty straight forward, the guide below helped me....................

Thanks for that Martin, I gave that a try and it was fine for 2 or 3 presses then it was back to how it was.

I've ordered a new case, so should be fine once it's swapped over :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Flashing LED on key fob
« on: 15 July 2009, 21:51:32 »
Just tried the pedal trick on my 2.2 and it seems it does work on some models :o

Took the key out of the ignition and the led on the fob was flashing  :-?

It won't lock on the remote anymore, have to use the key in the lock ::)

After about 30 seconds the led stops flashing, tried the remote again and it unlocked the doors but started flashing again. Then it won't lock remotely.

Has the key un-synced? or something else :-/

Edit: Quick update, tried new battery, no change.

Boot release not working, unlock button seems to lock the doors as well :-?

Tried the sync process - no change :(

Any ideas guys?

My Radio refuses to release the cartridge with my CD's in it.  It also refuses to play the CD's, displying CDC ERROR.  This happened suddenly and without warning with no prelude worth remembering.  When I press the release button, the flap opens but the cartridge does not come out.

Is this just the end of the road for my CD player or can I fix it myself?

Thanx in advance

I couldn't get mine fixed as spares are impossible to get apparently.

You can release the cartridge by pulling the white plastic tab on the front.

Try tightening the screws holding the cartridge together as they do work loose, worth a try.

Could that be the link wire to enable the brake light feed for the towbar plug?
Someone mentioned it in another thread but I don't know if thats where it goes.

I think that's behind the glove box

When you 'engage' cruise you should fell the accelerator pedal move 'down' slightly

Well it does in mine  ;D
yup, does it on all non DBW cars :y

Except mine [smiley=rolleyes.gif]
your 2.2 is dbw...

I know, but it hasn't worked for nearly a year, don't know what's up with it. I've changed the stalk but still doesn't work :(
if ever you make it up north to northamptonshire.......

Yeh thanks TB, I keep meaning to get over to Kevins for a diag (assuming he's still got the Tech II), or if he ventures into Kent for gliding he said he might be able to take a look :)

Thanks for the reminder. I'll keep you posted. ;)

Kevin

Cheers Kevin, looks like the cruise is sorted but would be nice to get the climate updated and a key programmed if I ever get hold of a spare one ::)

Your close to me  :y

Have you got a Tech II?

Strange thing happened last night, went out just to brim the Mig with fuel, decided to press the cruise switch as I've done hundreds of times over the last year with no result................this time the cruise kicked in and works just as it should do :)

Tried it again today.still working fine :y

Now I'm putting this down to fitting a new battery a couple of weeks ago as I've not really done much else that could have caused it to start working.

So I'm concluding that the cruise needs a decent voltage to operate :-/
