Omega Electrical and Audio Help / v6 acceptable fault codes
« on: 26 April 2015, 13:05:22 »
for my track project i'm going to strip out everything that is not strictly necessary.

so the question is.. what can i strip out without influencing the running of the engine

Evaporative emission control systemPurge control valve?
Vehicle speed sensor? (going to remove the abs and traction control)
secundairy air pump? ( i know if i leave the relay it won't trow a code but rather remove the entire wiring..)
exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve?

don't care about the mil light coming on
i've got a code reader so after every lap/race i will read the ecu for new codes.. and not gonna stop in the middle a lap for new codes... rather destroy the engine  :P

Newbie Welcome Area / drakos here with my omega trackday toy
« on: 25 April 2015, 16:29:23 »
let's introduce myself. my (nick)name is drakos and i'm from the netherlands

and got my omega pick't up today.

it is a 2.5 manual diamont edition from 95.. so full options, climate, electric leather seats, electric window front and rear etc...
on the outside it is dull gray and got some sort of bodykitt i supose  ::)

now the plan; going to rebuild the engine because the headgasket failed (maybe swap it for a 3.0)..completely strip out the interior and only leave a striped dash in place, even the sound deadening and inside off the doors have to go..lightweight fix't windows, 2 bucket seats and a rollcage and that is it... a trackday toy

will make a topic as soon as i start stripping it out  ;)
