Heaters and aircon keep tripping my lpg off
« on: 02 October 2016, 19:18:06 »

Hello
I am new to this forum. I have an omega that's lpg converted. However when I put my screen heaters or aircon on it trips my lpg off. I have to replace fuse and not use heaters . With winter approaching I am at a loss. Any suggestion please.

My immediate thought is the LPG plumbing isn't that good, and its causing the vap temp to drop too much.

Has it been like this since conversion?

Yep, Vap plumed in wrong or Vap position too high, or Air in the coolant system, could also be Vap has packed up, partially blocked, filters need changing etc.

How or why would that blow a fuse?

Insuffient flow causing VAP to run too cold and blow fuse  :-\

Some details about your engine would help, is it a V6 or 4 cylinder?

I still don't see how an iced up vaporiser could blow a fuse  :-\

Sounds more like another 'professional' install where the elec feed to the LPG system has been stuffed into the back of the climate fuse.

How much current do the injectors draw?

Hi again thanks for replies
It's a v6 and not sure if it's been like it since converted as bought car in June converted.
My hubby says to disconnect the eco system and it may prevent fuse going.
I love the omega but this problems a nuisance.
My hubby thinks when it was installed it was fused through the heating system.
But thought maybe had an easier solution.
Thanks again

Oh, crap, didn't see the fuse bit, just read the LPG tripping out and assumed it threw a wobbly and switched back to petrol.  :-[

Yea, the injectors are normally low Ohms, typically 2 to 8 ohms on the coils, so even with the switching circuits they will draw  a bit.

Does kind of make sense what your saying, if theve botched the LPG through the Heater panel rather than fused directly to the battery, that could do it. :y

That's a crappy install then :o I mean why chase through the bulkhead to the cabin fuse box when there's a perfectly good battery in the engine bay ::)

What lpg system is it?

I think he is probably right - you don't really need an LPG specialist - you need someone who knows how to use a multimeter and read circuit diagrams.

With any luck there may be someone local to you who can have a look otherwise there is enough expertise amongst members of OOF to diagnose the problem remotely but you are going to have to answer the questions we ask.

This is the first question to answer to track the cause of the problem.

Thanks again
The fuse we replace is the lpg system. strange but when we put on the heater or screen demister it trips out the lpg. The heaters etc work but the lpg doesn't so replace this fuse and back to where we started.  😕
