Stock Omega B ride height?
« on: 12 July 2017, 16:55:12 »

How high is it? Just trying to figure out how much the cars I have are lowered or have lowered by themselves over time.

From ground I presume? For some reason the finnish equilevant of MOT seems to measure it center of the wheel to the wheel arch.

EDIT: 630mm from the ground for the one I drive.

Its bearable, clears all the speedhumps around here is ok but I'm swapping another set to my car to make it a tad higher and selling this one to a friend who appreciates it more.

If you search the forum it's been discussed a lot and you will find lots of people's measurements  :y

Just checked the car and it is MOTd for 320mm front and 310mm back which is 1cm lower than it currently sits lol. Those are to center of wheel hub.

The front of my car came up nearly 30mm when I fitted new stock spec springs. The 17 year old originals had sagged that much. The ride and handling improved too.

Yeah I'm after something a little lower than that but higher than it currently is as the stock ride height makes it look like an offroader really  ;D

haven't you got better things to do than trolling?  that's why i put in in italics.  comparative ride heights can easily be worked out given overall height it's simple addition and subtraction even a troll idiot could calculate ::)

It's alot easier to measure the wheel arch height that the overall height... ::)

I mean, are those figures including roof bars/rails, to the top of the aerial or just with the sunroof open?

The factory numbers can only be used as an approximation as they were produced in a perfect environment using production fresh vehicles. Fourteen plus years of use and abuse will make a significant difference to those numbers.

ok i'll spell it out for the mathematically challenged

measure the overall height - simple - to the top of the roof (or if an estate with roof bars I gave the figure for that too)

deduct from your measurement the factory spec, if the answer is zero your ride height is as it left the factory.  if it is negative your ride height is lower, by thta amount.  if it is positive your ride height is higher, by that amount.

unless your car has somehow expanded or contracted since it left the factory ;D

i don't know of any better yardstick to use than the height it left the factory at  ::)

this is not rocket science even for a troll.
