Road closure

Next Tuesday there's a load[presumably]of bicyclists racing around town.Because of this there'll be several road closures in effect for varying lengths of time.The most significant will be a part of the A18 known locally as Kingsway,which although the race doesn't start until 11a.m.[starts about 5mls away from Kingsway]will be shut from 4a.m. through to 8p.m.This is one of the main parts of the ring road to avoid the town centre! I think they should make them use the cycle ways as the local cyclists never bother with them and we could do with getting some of the investment made by the council in setting them up back :D ;D ;D ;D

Racing on public roads? I always thought that was illegal.
Ok, since from that it obviously IS legal, let's have an All-Omega race around London, I'm sure they will close the North and South Circular roads for us. won't they?  :y 8)

Anyone can apply for one for anything.  You just have to go through the correct channels, risk assessments, risk mitigations, informing the locals, manning key points with marshalls, signage, medical cover, etc.

It's a doddle ;D
