Tracking and camber settings.

As per the title, could anyone please provide the bona-fide (as per WIM?) settings for my 2.6 CDX saloon, '51 Reg, please, as the MOT man failed me on uneven tyre wear on the inside edges and I do not want to wear out two new tyres in similar fashion - I can't afford it!

Also, I had a slow air leak on a rear tyre, diagnosed by KwikFit as rim corroesin and charged me £34 to wire brush it ( ::)) and suggestiong that I got it re-furbished for a long term cure.
Any comments, please?

i had mine checked on 4 wheel alignment at local garage needed adjusting but all in all cost £20 for the work to be done its is advised to loosen them up before taking the mig in as they will charge you for loosening them up if they stuck.  also best to have the new tyres fitted so the alignment is in range.

£34 :o.  I'd expect to pay half that, max.  To them, its no different than fixing a puncture, apart from they don't have to fix any puncture.

Rim leaks are normally due to the rim not being cleaned properly the last time the tyre was fitted.

£34 ? I've paid less for a full wheel refurb.

My local Tyre man charges £5 cash for a slow puncture caused by the rim, including a new valve and balance and £10 for a real puncture.

Unless he sold you the tyre, when he does it for free and £5 respectively

Thank you for those links, New POD; very useful.
I have vague memories of seeing the full WIM's alignment settings posted on here some time back and as I don't have a WIM branch near me, I was hoping my local garage could use said figures to programme his machine?
I was charged £25 for an earlier (last week) real puncture, advised that the £34 wire brushing may not last for long and suggested a proper refurb for about £70!
Do I live in the wrong place?  :(

Prices in the midlands are about £40 to £60 for a wheel refurb depending on what spec and treatment you want.

Northwest can be cheaper.

What exactly do they do beyond the wire-brushing that KwikFit did?
I was tempted to give the thing a goodly squirt of that emergency tyre sealant - much cheaper even than the wire-brushing!  ???

They should remove the corrosion and then apply a sealant before re-seating the tyre bead
