Drivers door stuck
« on: 20 September 2017, 12:20:22 »

So the lock works on the fob, lock works with the key, but the door wont open.
Pulling the handle i can hear a noise, like the lock has slipped, and obv i cant take the panel off because the door is shut.
Help!

You're going to need a new door card...

And a new latch mechanism.

If he's lucky and the antitheft shield was left off last time the lock motor was replaced, then it will only be the door mechanism...  :y

Duke, with the above in mind, obtain a new door mechanism. And a metre of stiff wire... A coathanger won't do.

Once the lock arrives, examine it and you'll see exactly what you need to do to release it.

Should be able to do it with the door card intact and the window down. You need to work outside the glass. If you choose to trash the door card you need the window closed to access* the mechanism.

*use of the word access in no way shape or form implies the ability to do anything useful :D

Next time it opens, remove the mechanism. Then remove the lock shield and bin it and liberally oil the entire thing.

Pay attention to how it works as per my previous post :y
