18" Spare
« on: 24 September 2017, 23:40:33 »

Having a car running on 18" Sportstars (required to be able to fit the larger front brakes underneath) I now need to source a spare. Wouldn't be a problem under normal circumstances but with the larger brakes an 18" wheel is the minimum requirement, even then, I believe certain 18" wheels are too tight on the caliper.

I believe I need something with these specifics:-

PCD: 110
ET: 30 (Or use a spacer plate)
Size: 18"
Width: ideally 8J

I notice Vauxhall Moka wheels are 18" but think the are 7J, really need something cheap that I could slap on until I got to a tyre place...

Anyone have any ideas, I would buy another Sportstar if I could find one but they all appear to be in sets of four.

Fit the standard spare to the rear and swap the original rear to the front :y

That's the whole point of my post, I do not want to have to do that.

If I was going to do that I wouldn't have posted.

It's what you have to do on Saabs with the factory big brakes.

There's someone on ebay selling a set of four 18" 8j et 33 Irmscher Stila for £190ish... at least two are cracked and one buckled and all are scuffed...

Won't fit in the wheel well on the saloon though, which will be more annoying than having to potentially change two wheels ::) especially as half the boot has an lpg tank in it.

Incidentally, when was the last puncture you had and how many miles ago?

No LPG tank in that car, car not used for work, therefore not a problem having wheel in boot Tbh.

Last puncture on daily driver was a month ago so about 3K. Why?

A bit difficult with 8J front and 9J rear.

There's someone on ebay selling a set of four 18" 8j et 33

8J won't fit in the spare place in a saloon boot.

As I said, I'm looking for a spare 18 inch wheel, as per the original post.
