Wire brush it up  :y

I did that, then compare the lip with that indent, for me it meant I had miles left on the discs and stuck new pads in.

Does anyone use the indent in the side of the disc? You know that grooved but which shows how far it can wear down?

eg:

Aren't they to balance the disc? Every worn disc I've ever changed has had a ridge around the perimeter, not extra wear.

Pmsl ;D

That is machined in to balance the disc...

Minimum thickness is stamped on the outer edge, and is typically 1-2mm less than the nominal thickness...

In the case of the Omega, this is 18mm iirc :y

My mistake, thought it was wear indicator. But I bet that grove is not far off 18mm,

If that's a 20mm disc, the pads would drop out by that point as there's about 14mm of disc left ;)

Try your local factor for a price, or even car parts for less, bound to be a code.

Its a long way off - a disc cannot sustain that amount of wear, as they would become too weak.
