A good result
« on: 20 October 2017, 07:52:55 »

About time this was done more often, as there is no need for anybody to have this happen before a journey on a motorway :y.

Indeed. But it does show the value of having a hard shoulder. More people are destined to be "hysterical with fear" thanks to the push for smart motorways, I fear.

Also agree, and I also have serious reservations about so called "Smart" motorways and the lack of a hard shoulder.

I note the comment about her "situation" meaning was she hard-up? She was driving an XC90, so can't be that hard up

She still had to get from Derbyshire to Leeds so there is no excuse after just passing the services, they aren`t that extortionate that she couldn`t afford to stop  :-\

Watching those police shows from Australia it would seem that they've been fining motorists for running out of fuel on the Sydney harbour bridge for quite some time-whether this also applies to their motorway network or not I don't know-so we're a bit behind the times[again]on doing something like this.Unfortunately you can't legislate against peoples stupidity-well not until we get TB for president.

I would say, that I really REALLY resent paying motorway fuel prices  >:(  and only ever do so when I absolutely have no choice, such as when the tank is almost dry  ::)

Agreed, and I've only ever put £5-10 in. But that said, I'd do it over being left high and dry on the motorway!!

When you are spending upwards of 70 quid to fill the tank, an extra fiver doesn,t make much difference really. Especially when you are driving in the dark or in the early hours with kids on board. Perhaps she lets hubby fill the car so doesn,t bother checking she had enough juice anyway.  ???

.

There is no need to use, msa for fuel or food when travelling, there's plenty of supermarket, or suitable places just off the motorway, and most people have a smartphone too, so no reason to use the modern day highway, men.
