...
It's a hefty thing with a kerb weight of 2429 kgs (according to Parkers as I CBA to go out in the cold and dark to check the plate!), yet it is very comfortable on the motorway!  :)

I can't believe you guys havn't worked this out yet!  :o  ;D

5 Pages!!  ::)

I actually thought it was a 2.7 TDV6 Disco or similar.

AT LAST!  ;D

Yes its a 2006 Land Rover Discovery 3  2.7 TDV6 S in dark navy blue.  :y

I await the ritual slagging and another 5 pages telling me what will go wrong with it!  ;D

We had a loaner for a couple of days when the Disco 3 first came out, HSE model too.  A remarkably comfortable motor, though 20mpg max, it was more expensive to run than my petrol Omega ;D

With the MPG you are getting it must be petrol. Yes?

Wrong.  It runs on dumper truck fuel.  :-X

Some would say it might drive like a dumper truck but it's surprisingly refined.  ;)

Volvo XC90?

Never seen XC90 with 2.7 V6 lump

we finished work yesterday when our big job flew back to Denmark. So I'm not interested in the details ;)

One of these:

Yep it's one of those.  ;) ;D
Shall we go through them one by one until you say yes? I mean, whichever one it is, I don’t think many will be jealous.  ;D
I rest my case  ;D

Okay.....so you've bought a car the weight of an ocean going liner and decided an undernourished 2.7 derv lump barely capable of pulling the skin off a rice pudding would be a good idea.

Happy Christmas.

It goes quite well to be honest, but it wouldn't suit TB's sideways driving style!   :o ;D

TB is on the portly side.......    (Note....I didn't say fat bastard)

I'm surprised he is so enthusiastic behind the wheel.

Couldn't possibly be as bad as the little 1.4 (or 1.2 maybe) petrol Skoda Rapid I had as a loan car yesterday.. now that really couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding.

I found they went reasonably well, up to illegal road speeds, but drinks like a drunk in doing so.

Didn't have the loaner long enough to see what it would manage when no being thrashed everywhere.

With the high centre of gravity I don't think whanging it into a roundabout or tight corner at warp speeds, as you do TB would end well.  :-\  ;)

It does however have 'presence' on the road due to it size and it does go well in a straight line.  :y  I ran out of duel carriageway the other day though when doing an overtake that wouldn't have bothered the Mundano or Beemer.  :o  ::)  ;D

Sir Tig...... if you will insist on buying 'a van with windows' then the Range Rooney fitted with the 5.0 S/C V8 would probably be a better bet for moving something so heavy. Fuel consumption would probably be similar judging from the figures you are currently getting with derv.

It will still be slow, but not glacially slow.
