Hopefully moving house
« on: 27 May 2018, 13:19:36 »

Very slowly things are happening. Had the buyers surveyor around at 8am yesterday morning. If we could not have taken that appointment, the next appointment was in a fortnight.!!!!! Worse than the doctors !!!!!! I did not think there was much movement in house sales, so lord knows what they are surveying.
The good news was she said our house was ok, valuation etc. The buyer has had a mortgage agreed, subject to the valuation. At least we don't have that problem in Brackley, as we won't have a mortgage. Probably have a survey anyway, but at least there will be no time limitation.
TB would probably know when the house was built, as its near him, but it can't be that old.
Last time we moved was 45 years ago, and I have told her, if this goes tits up, I ain't going through it again. Too stressful  :(

Good luck, Mr Terbert. :y

I know from experience that  both buying and selling a house can be stressful.

Estate agents in general are pretty poor. :-\

I wondered when that would pop up. ;D ;D

last house we had in the Uk, I was clearing the front garden and came across a particularly tough root at fork depth- presumably from the conifer hedge. I got the blighter to the surface but it wouldn't snap. Then it glinted and I realised it was the mains lead feed 10 inches deep. :o :o

TB would probably know when the house was built, as its near him, but it can't be that old.
On the estate to the north of town, where the vast majority of Brakkers people live, you essentially have 4 phases - the American part is late 60s, then the 1980s Bryant houses near the school and the swingers estate the other side of the road, then the huge bit built late 90s, and lastly the new huge estate that's still being developed.

//TB pokes head out of window, checking there are no houses for sale in his road, just in case its that near ;D

Yup, know it well.

About 15yrs ago, planning permission was granted to build circa 200 houses in the field beyond, obviously that's expired, but the precedent has been set.  Get your solicitor to check that if the outlook there is important to you.

Thanks for that, TB. Evidently the trees/copse behind us can't be removed. I expect by the time they get sorted again, I'll probably have turned my toes up !!!!!
Best bit I like, is the frontage parking for four cars !!!!! :y

It was the field beyond, not sure if access was going to be via Rose Drive or the green area between Rose Drive and Prices Way.  I know at the time, we drove to Rose Drive to check it out, and thought extending Rose Drive into that field was most likely outcome.

But, anyway, you are aware, thus armed :y

Yes Aaron...we did a scientific calculation of velocity strength x height x area, taking into account the general wind direction.
It seems to indicate we are 400 metres outside the extreme limits.   ;D ;D ;D

You may well be 400 metres from ground zero but I hear, like his twin brother Kim Yong Un, he's been experimenting with bigger bangs. ;D

Yep, that nuclear sign outside could be for bigger bangs or a warning about last night's lamb naga. :o :o :o

Good luck with the move and you will have a near neighbour to do help with all your Omega repairs. ::) ::) ::)

My new neighbours lived further away than where you will be, and it disturbed their night's sleep ;).

But I've been there, done that, for my next disaster I need to raise the bar higher :P
