Topic for the weekend?
« on: 26 August 2006, 14:13:18 »

I know my user name isn't very original - just my name :-[ However, it would really be interesting to know how you other members chose you forum user names and what signicance they have (if any!) especially the more unusual one's.

Although I already know quite a few, it would also be nice to know everyone's first names (real one's) - what do we think? ::)

Hope I'm not being too nosey - just interested.

mine was a nick name given to me at a job i had.

About 4 or 5 years ago I worked in Currys as a Xmas job, just for a few weeks. Awful Awful company, anywho there were several Mark's there so it   became confusing... and we did't like using our surnames on the shop floor.

One wise guy nick named me tunnie and it stuck, the way he said it was always amusing, made the T sound very loud!  ;D

My surname is Tunnicliffe...... so thats were it cam from & the story of my user name :D ;)

Mine came about because it is a reflection of my personality most of the time (despite works best attempts!) and my year of birth.

Alas nothing more exciting than that..  :-[

Well mine is because I am now an olive farmer in Spain. Quite a lot different from my office life in Britain.

The V6 makes a great tow car for a trailer load of olives. Everyone else uses tractors or 4x4's.

I live 90 minutes drive from my nearest Opel dealer with a parts dept.

Mine was invented years ago at college.

My freind and I wanted to order a clothes catalogue as our V neck sleeveless 'Harlequin' tank tops needed replacing.  I also needed a white tie.  But that's digressing.

We lived in a residential block on site and couldn't decide whom the catalogue should be sent to, so we invented an imaginary person whose name was an amalgamation of both our surnames.

His is Hill and mine is Harper.  So Mr Hillper ordered the clothes!

Since then, that's been BOTH our nicknames and when we meet, we both greet each other as Hillper!

First name Tim.
