What price 11,500 mile Elite
« on: 05 July 2009, 08:26:24 »

There's an an 03 Elite on ebay for £1 short of £6,000 with about 34 or 38,000 miles on the clock, they go to say there are no Omegas left out there with less than 40,000 miles ! I own an 02 2.6 Elite which has covered a genuine 11,500 genuine miles with full service history etc and I'll be selling it very shortly, what price should I be asking for it !

There's not a chance in hell that that car will go for £6k (unless it's been bidded up to that amount? Or is it buy it now?).

My dad got a four year old Vauxhall Signum 3.0CDTi Elite with 40k on it, for £5,500. Big Vauxhalls depreciate like hell.

I'd say ask £1,995 for yours, that seems reasonable and adjusted for the mileage.

Omegas are really not worth a lot anymore at all, sadly. I have a 2000 V reg with 75k on it (which is low by 20k), and it's in near spotless condition, and I doubt I'll get a grand for it.

May be worth keeping hold of mine for a while longer, a lot of car for little money also can't fault it in anyway whatsoever, as for the ebay Elite it says a 'classified add' !

Wow, I thought mine was low miles with 34,000 but yours is incredible. Is yours manual? I know it's not actually for sale yet...but if it was a manual then whoah I'm there.

Well my mint Y reg 2001 Elite that I've had from new is just coming up to 35K and has LPG conversion + sat nav with CID. Whats that worth do you think?

(i'd guess less than SWTSMBO's  36K Y Reg 1.4 Corsa Elegance bought at the same time!!)

It's an auto, silver, makes me wonder in four or five years time it'll only have about 50,000 miles and probably worth the same value as today !!

A car (or anything come to that) is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

For me personally, I will never pay more than the book price - for no other reason than if it should go "total loss" then you won't get any more than the book price from the insurance.

We have been here before, take no notice of what advice you get, a car will sell for whatever someone will pay for it. I refer back to the £8k omega estate recently sold, and there are others.  People will pay for what they want, and low miles and good nick can still get a fair price ::) average though seem to be worthless :( :(

I reckon you would get well over 3K for it with only11,500 miles on it, it will appeal to someone.

I agree, £2K seems low for those miles. I would snap your arm off at £2K, bulk at anything over £3.5K, so I guess ask around £3,250 to get £3K. 8-)

I agree with the valuation of £3000 or a touch more. To some that might seem a bit high or optimistic, but something high spec with very low miles would attract buyers, and I bet someone would be interested and there'd be a fairly quick sale.
One only imagines what Roger Budden would price it up as...:)

I bought a Silver 3.2 Elite about 8 weeks ago with only 15,500 miles on it (19,500 now!). Full service history and full years MOT from a trader for £3,300 which I feel was fair and reasonable.

A car is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. If you find the right buyer it may be worth £5k plus. More importantly, you have to decide what the car is worth to you. I know to replace my Mig with a similar performance, low mileage motor could cost me £10k plus so that makes my recent purchase very good value indeed  :y

Oh.. and it's recently been loved and cared for by the dream team.... well, Daz n Pete  ;)
