Irmscher rear spoiler
« on: 22 July 2009, 13:28:03 »

I am aout to try and fit an Irmscher rear spoiler to mums car. It is second hand and I have cleaned off all the old sticky stuff.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to what to use to fit it.

Thanks in advance.

Think you can use very strong trim tape, or the likes of sikaflex

or some even take a couple of screws.

You need to use a special mastic for attatching bodykits.
I tried useing double sided trim tape but could not get it to stick securely. Having used the correct stuff (thats a technical term) it is rock solid and looks good you'd never know it wasn't done by a profesional :D

I used the product below

Yup, i gotta agree with this stuff. It's a Polyurathane Mastic/Sealant. We used this stuff to bond steel plates together to form water storage tanks. Very good stuff. Just make sure you wipe any surplus away with thinners before it dries & don't get it on any of your clothes (it never ever washes away. I know ;))
