Called in to see local MOT man and got him to set the headlights I refurbished accurately with the beam setter.

Think I need to change the bulbs on the Shag, guess there are original. Usual tired HID symptom of seems bright enough, but no illumination.

Trouble is, I think the bumper has to come off to change fikkin bulb.

You're supposed to take it to the dealer for that sort of thing.  :)

Not sure where you are getting the bulbs from but I got a complete set for the Omega from Powerbulbs, all bulbs were genuine with barcodes etc that allowed you to check on the manufacturers websites.

Blimey. Quick google can’t even find much detail on it, only one small video and it does show the bumper off.  :(

Lack of technical forums and complicated jobs really is pain for newer cars  :(

Think that just put me off XJ, that is a serious amount of work for just a bulb change. When I got the Zafira I inspected the bulbs for an upgrade, easy as pie to reach in and change all of them.

You get a load of grief with dreary cars like a Golf or Megane.

The Zafira is classed as dreary, but easy peasy. Grief is not the real issue though, it's lack of technical knowledgable forums.

So surprised with VW, huge number sold forums rubbish. Jag ones as TB is finding, is just 'take it to a dealer' approach.

Mangane we had, the headlight units just pulled out on a slider. I changed two headlight bulbs in five minutes.
