Busy weekend for the Trolley...

New front struts, springs and top mounts, butchered a s/h cluster to fix the not working rev counter and fitted a pair of Depo* headlights to replace the rather knackered original ones along with new, decent, bulbs all round. Just the interior ones to change.

*End result is worth it, but they always require messing around with to get right :-\ one had a busted bracket (not a real issue as they have a metal reinforcement plate over the bracket), a side light bulb holder that didn't quite fit the hole in the lense on one and a dodgy wire on the other side where the side light is fed off the inboard headlight... Added a touch of solder to strengthen the connection. Shouldn't have to, but their Omega ones were the same ::)

As suspected, just shoving in a blank replacement drive didn't resolve it.

Is the issue with Jag system as a result of your tinkering, or has it failed on its own?

Today's efforts consisted of disc and pads, rear spring and shock on one side* along with a new exhaust...

*Only one side as the handbrake adjustment had been previously bodged which required the undertrays to come off and Mr Haynes neglected to mention that the subframe needs dropping to undo the shock top bolt... ::) why it doesn't have the nut welded to the subframe is beyond me ???

Tother side tomorrow and see how it drives :y

Tother side of the rear suspension done, and hand brake adjusted, although nearside cable seems to be binding slightly, although it is probably sufficient for test purposes  :-\

Yesterday, handbrake on TBE.

Piss balled a bit more with the HDD in the Jag, but I seem to be finding a million and one options that don't resolve it, and not a one that does...

Take your credit card to the dealer.

Leave it there, with the car.

Even if they quoted something half reasonable, like a couple of hundred quid, I'd probably decline, as my nearest dealer - Strathstone Jaguar at Milton Keynes - seems even less competent than most dealers.  Usual case of coffee/cake is more important than the service provided.

It would appear that a new IAM unit is approx. £1200, before configuration, going by my (way outdated) EPC, and converting back to GBP ::)
