Good morning from the newbie.
« on: 10 October 2006, 10:04:00 »

Morning all. Looks a good site so far, I found you by searching the net for anyone who has ever had a water leak problem on an MV6-seems I'm not alone!
You've been useful already & I will try to look at my car on saturday to see if I can find my leak. May need some advice there on as my local dealer wants £45+VAT for a "diagnostic check". They then went on to say it was popular to for V6 models to leak from the back of the engine, a 3-way valve??

Anyway, we'll see.

Thanks all.

 :)

Welcome to the site Bluestrike  :)

What makes you think you need a diagnostic check, is there signs of the EML on. If so try the paperclip method in the FAQ section its alot cheaper and works a treat.

Plenty of V6 Omega folks on here with a wealth of knowledge.

Just post up in the Omega General Help section and I'm sure all your questions will be answered.  :y

Welcome to site :)

Yes, heater bypass valve (HBV) is prone to failure. Change it quick (part is around £26 from dealer), as it tends to spray on DIS pack, and that then gets expensive.

HBV is a bit fiddly, but not a hard job if you have the patience...
