Ive done a search but really didn't answer my questions so bare with me......

My climate control in my current car (97 Elite) doesn't work...hasn't since ive bought it,and with the current heat wave im getting warm....DAMN warm,so any thoughts would be welcome.

The climate lights up as expected..temp..Fan number ect,but regardless of the temp setting its on it neither gets warm nor cold and there's no air being blown through,just appears to be completely dead.

So really any advice (idiot terms please.lol.) on where and what to check first and possible solutions would be smashing.

well since nothing works, then thats good and bad news.

My system failed month or so back, blew hot air and cool but no air-con. Turned out to be my condensor which was duff.

Because nothing atall is comming out off yours, suggests either:

1) Vacume problem - Check all hoses ect... any air going out of the back vents? (arm rest ones in the back)

2) Heater Matrix Nakered

Sounds to me more like vacume as you have no air at all....

No the rear vents are the same...nothing at all.

Forgot to say that ive tried resetting the climate with the auto and off buttons both held down for 30 seconds and theres a quiet clicking noise,not sure if thats good or bad.?

As theres no air being blown and I assuming theres no fan noise even if you have the fan set to max

I would think.....cheapest option 1st

Fuse blown for the fan
Fan has died
ECU for climate is knackered

I would have said check pollen filter......but it sounds like you have no air being blown at all so counted this out.

Re-reading your post it seams you get a digital readout on the display? says 20 / 19 ect...?

If so its as TD says either the Fan or the ECU

Get a pair of long nose plyers and check every single fuse to see if its gone.

Cheers Guys fuses i can cope with..

If the fan or climate in the ecu has failed would a tech 2 machine pick this up...or even the paper clip test.?

And yeah the display is fine...can see the temp (16-25) and fan blower numbers all ok.

A tech2 live data view and actuation may help isolate the fault, but not tell you whats wrong.

Paperclip test only does engine ecu

Get the fan out....i dont think its a dash out job....i think its behind the centre console and can be got to......others will be able to advise.

Then just test it really....put 12v on it (or multimeter to test the motor winding resistance), making sure you know the correct pins.....if you can make it spin then its ok.

Then you looking at either a wiring fault (broken wire/bad connection/etc) or worst case the climate control panel is faulty (climate ecu).....ie its not sending 12v to the fan for it to work

If your scuttle drain hole has been blocked, its likely that the fan controller has got wet, and blown...

Good point TheBoy  ...id forgotten that issue ..it may have happened b4 you got the car....as you said its never worked.
I believe the fan controller is attached to the fan housing.....so its still out fan job...i believe....to check

My pre-facelift has an issue with the ECC controller. They seem to be fairly fragile. I either got hot or cold and nothing in between. A replacement controller shouldn't be mega money from a breakers.

I suspect fan speed control failure but, check the fuses first.....

The blower hides behind the glove box, the speed controller is on a 2" x 2" plastic base which clips into the blower case.

Get the glove box out then check for power on the big red ? feed. The blower motors can seize which would blow the fuse or could blow the speed controller, you might be able to see the fan blades from the pollen filter or touch them through the speed controller hole (once removed) try turning the fan by hand to see if it is stiff or seized.
Water into the speed controller usually means fan running at full speed or wont turn off.
