Car ideas for nurburgring
« on: 17 October 2006, 15:33:54 »

We are organizing a trip to nurburgring in April with my collegues basically we have to split in teams of 2 buy a car that would cost maximum of 500quid and race to nurburgring do a few laps and then back. I was thinking of getting a 3lt 12v carlton GSI. Any suggestions?

An E30 325.  Big cars kill brakes on the track.

12v Carlton?

Naah, 24v one, or even an ex plod Senator (manual box and the C30SE= fun!  8-))
Get it chipped... and away you go... literally!

It really did shift, even with 2 "larger" gentlemen like me and Mark and a non manual set up.

If you could prise it out of the new owners hands then it would be great! Remember there's a time to beat with it, 10:42.

However, I'd vote for an ex-plod MV6. the engine sits back further so has less of a propensity to understeer.

Main concern is to get us there and back as after that it will either get sold or scarpped depending on how good it actually is. So we won't be spending much money on it.
