Title: renault 1.5dci problem
Post by: raywilb on 02 October 2019, 20:32:03
renault is going into limp mode under pressure, he is talking about scrapping it has he thinks it ignition pump & injectors at fault. a mate of mine has had a diagnostic on it & its saying ignition fault. when the ignition card is put in stage 1 is not doing anything but stage2 everything goes on & it will start ok. when he drove it & it seemed to go into limp mode he reckoned he pushed the card in it righted itself. so he thinks it the card reader at fault.

So the fault code is fuel rail pressure low?

Could be the high pressure pump (usually isn't though), the rail pressure sensor (generally works or doesn't so unlikely), a leaking injector (tend to be lumpy when running, leak off test would show,  possible this one) or a wanky 'power' box

it's a French diesel, so faulty sparkplugs are a distinct possibility :)
