I watched that a while back
I had 4 Carlton saloons ,great cars   8)
I stuck with 4 pots with mods  :-X and avoided the "boat anchor" engines
I remember someone stuck an Omega V6 in an estate carlton
I have fond memories of the 'totalcarlton.com' (now defunct) days  :)

General Car Chat / Re: Car insurance
« on: 13 February 2024, 17:16:28 »
It's not the car with me, I think that counts for very little. It's my age, the area I live in and the 20,000 miles pa that does it.
When wifey's car was set alight about four years ago, the bastard did six others in one night. We were lucky, someone knocked on the door and told us and I managed to put it out with only damage to the rear bumper. One poor fella had his van destroyed, along with his front door and windows. The others were somewhere in between. Seven insurance claims in one night in one postcode, the computer thinks we live in Beirut.
:(
It's also gone up to subsidise rich EV owners who's cars get written off with the slightest scratch because no one wants to fix thermo galactic bombs (EVs)

Yeh i'm watching that one while I wait to see if Insurance will pay for the fitting.  :y

Was wondering if the windscreen fitters over the road from Serek would remove the remnants of the old one and fit this one....

Having walked 2 miles to the dentist to have a tooth out, I was told I needed a tooth specialist, and the dentists surgery didn't have any, so need to be referred.  So I walked 2 miles home again.

Its been going on since October, and I've lost count of the number of temporary fillings this tooth has had - including 3 on Friday alone - whilst they play ping pong with whoever the supposed tooth specialist is who keeps rejecting the referral.

How hard can it be?
Just go private for that particular problem, Jaime. You don't have to stay with the private dentist, and I can't see one extraction being that expensive.
Last time I went for a check up, the young lad said I needed to see the hygienist. What? You send schoolchildren to see the hygienist when they're not brushing their teeth properly, not 70 year old men. They are skint, and will do anything to get a few bob out of you. Annual checkups don't cut the mustard. I didn't make an appointment and, if he pushes me next time, I'll tell him to shove it. There is a private dentist just around the corner, and he doesn't insist on regular visits. Toothache=tooth out at my age.

As the opposite of what has pissed me off...

Ordered a very expensive USB charger from the Gay of E at 7pm (Sunday).  Arrived by noon today (Monday).  Suitably impressed.
I'm finding a lot of ebay purchases are delivered quickly recently by Royal Fail ,some orders are being delivered by Amazon vans too  :o

It doesn't always go well though , I ordered a brand new 500 GB SSD , a crappy 1 TB spinny toshiba external drive arrived ,had to disk part clear it to get it recognised (to find out how old it was etc) 2019  >:(  complained and said send a refund ,but the seller insisted I return the crappy EWASTE  spinny drive  ::) which meant going to the post office  >:(

Check that they didn’t charge you double due to a software glitch.  :)  ;)

 ;D

I didn't have to pay , I asked for a pre paid return label  ;)

I did cost me time though  :(

My experience of internet purchases is boring compared to some. I order something and it arrives. I know that sounds crazy but that’s just how it is.  ::)   :)
Same here  :)
