Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Radio frequency (bose system)
« on: 08 February 2009, 10:05:04 »
I have the bose system in my 98 Elite Pre-face, unsure of which radio to be exact  ;D  Now im not sure if its a problem or just a characteristic of the radio, but when im tuning it in for a radio station it only goes up in odd numbers i.e 105.1,105.3,105.5 etc etc now this is a pain because most of the radio stations round here are 105.2, 103.2, if i use the RDS it cant seem to find them either ?

Is there anyway i can change it so that it goes up in single increments ?

Im thinking of changing the normal phillips head unit in my car to an aftermarket one, main question is, will the bose system still work with the aftermarket head unit  ?

Car is a 1998 Elite (mini facelift)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Electrical burning
« on: 28 November 2008, 14:50:39 »
Right its not the heater blower as i originally thought, plugged the fuse back in for it and no smoke, so this leaves me with the heated rear window which is the last thing i remember turning on before the smoke started  >:(

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Electrical burning
« on: 25 November 2008, 17:40:36 »
On my way home from work i experienced a burning plastic smell and some smoke arising from the footwell and the drivers side vent, i pulled over and turned everything off, thiking the last thing i turned on was the Heated rear window i pulled the fuse out for that and the climate control and anything heated  ;D got home with no further issues, i got the fuse panel partially out to have a look and there doesnt appear to be any wires anywhere that look as if they have been burning, and for some reason the smell of burning only seems to be localised around the headlight switch  :-? and the surrounding vent, then whilst i was thinking about it i remembered i had turned them off and then on again when i came out of work (dockyard)

Is there a chance it could be the headlight switch ?  :-/ :-/

I have noticed however that if i turn the heated rear screen on it gets worse  :o

Omega General Help / Re: ATF leak !

You sure that's not engine oil?

Thats the thing i really am not sure, it has a smell but isnt very distinct but it smells more like ATF than engine oil only because the engine oil has a petroly smell to it  :o

Omega General Help / ATF leak !
« on: 31 October 2008, 17:06:56 »
Well it seems these problems come in three's  :) i suppose a good way to look at it is that they are all engine/gearbox related  ;D ;D :o

So anyway i noticed some oily patches on the ground after driving the car, so had a gander's underneath to be greeted by a very oily mess  :-? had a sniff at the suspicious liquid and as far as i can tell its ATF !?

Hellova mess as you can see, Whats the most common place for them to leak ?

1998 2.5 V6 Elite

Thanks  :D

Getting really strange now on the knocking side of things, went out tonight and not once did the engine knock, on or off load, tried loads of different throttle positions and not at all did it knock ?  :-?
