Any advice on hand controls, brake and throttle, for a disabled driver using a face-lift auto. Perhaps more to the point, a set that can be bought & fitted at a cost not exceeding the value of the car.
We have a set from Alfred Bekker for a pre-facelift without the adjustable steering wheel angle. When fitted on the pre-facelift the fusebox cover can't be opened. So we're wondering if there isn't something better out there?
Of course there are also the portable sets. Any recommendations?

Use what you have, but remove the fusebox cover?

I used to service a facelift with hand controls for a forum member, and the hand controls fouled the fusebox cover. I suspect they all do that.

I have a set up to,fit a Facelift Auto, with adjustable steering ( 03 Elite), does the Accelerator and Brake on one Lever, right hand side of steering wheel, seem to remember the lower SW Cowling had a piece cut out of it, but cant remeber about the fuse box.
I can have a look next time Im there, if that helps.

Thanks. Any chance of some photos please?
The Alfred Bekker conrtrols are rod and tube for both brake and throttle. Push to brake and pull to accelerate. And indeed there was a rectangular hole cut into the bottom cowling for the mounting bracket. The tubes cross over and obstruct the fuse box cover. We can live with that. However I can't fit the Bekker set to the facelift due to the adjustable steering wheel. There isn't enough space for the clamp above the first part of the steering tube. There was more space on the pre-facelifts. So it seems I'm looking for a set with a mounting specifically made for a facelift Omega.

Or retro fit the fixed column ::)

Probably can, but its not near me so give me a day or two or more, fairly sure on this one you can move the Steering wheel and the controls go with it, its been a while.

I was actually wondering if that was viable? What's involved, never tried that myself?
It seems that nobody who drives this ever uses the steering wheel angle adjust. So certainly it wouldn't be missed.
Anyway it seems I'm in the market for a set of push/pull (or just brake push) hand controls that will properly fit a post facelift auto Omega, with an adjustable angle steering wheel. Or perhaps a steering column from one without.

Should only be a few bolts ;)
