Post by: grifter on 05 June 2018, 23:14:24
Boo hoo where we goning to get cheap dealer ex-stock now?

http://www.carpartsconnexion.com/

That'll be that damn PSA takeover probably! Have noticed a lot of parts suddenly becoming obsolete since that takeover - coincidence?

Biggest problem with the dealers on there, was regularly the parts had been sold, and the advert was months out of date.

Yeah i noticed that with quite a few bits, would make sense to link it to the national dealers stock so it was a bit more up to date.o

I had the same experience and gave up on it a long time ago.

I used to check it quite frequently against a list of part numbers I have gathered for the more commonly needed items, and because I checked it reasonably frequently, it was easy to see which new parts had been added.
Over the years I have had some excellent buys, and most garages would post parts out quite cheaply. I have still have a lot of good 'stock' to last me for the foreseeable future.
Pity it's folded.

Now Vauxhall hold all sorts of random bits at Byfleet, so always worth a phone call to them if you're stuck :y
