Title: Trump/Kim Summit
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 12 June 2018, 11:35:52
Well it dosn't seem that anything startling has come out of it, but it's a start and I view it positively and with optimism.  :y

Trump even let Kim give The Beast a once over!  :)

Of course Trump's detractors are determined to be pessimistic and there is a very sniffy editorial in the Groaniad today.  I guess they are all choking on their skinny lattes!  ;D

As Churchill famously said "Jaw jaw is better than war, war!"  :y

Absolutely :y

For all his apparent flaws, Trump is actually doing OK in the grand scheme of things.

Made with Almond milk, I trust. :o

If only he'd been as constructive with the G7. Maybe they need to point a few nukes at him? ;D

May, Trudeau, Micron and Merkel are not worth being constructive with. They are all cut from the same globalist cloth.

I think Trump will be the best POTUS ever. Pity we are stuck with useless leaders over here.  >:(

Give it a few hours when Trump gets back home to His back garden and He'll be typing on Twitface about Rocket Man again.

Apparently Trudeau has a special place in hell reserved for him!  :o

Not very diplomatic language, but then again I'm surprised that Trudeau hasn't apologised for this as he seems to apologise for everything else!  ::)  ;D

People say Trump is stupid, but he's the clever one, and (unlike virtually every other western politician ever) tries to do what he said he would.

We need more leaders like that, not the wishy washy crap we have...   ...but due to too many do-gooders, such a leader would never get voted in.

I my opinion, Trump has played a blinder here ...........

Kim is a dictator and comes from a long line of dictators.
With dictators, you have 3 choices imo
1/. Leave him to it (unless he has oil or nukes)
2/. Bomb the shit out of him but that option is slightly dodgy with Soul and its 20 od million people 50 miles away and young Kim having nukes unless you quickly intend to turn the north into a wasteland for the next 100 years before he can react :(
OR
3/. Try and bring him in from the cold and into the real world while letting him save face with a bit of bulshit to his people  :y

Fair play to the orange one, the boy done well  ;D

North Koreans are no longer inure to the West. Everything might be state controlled but USB sticks are smuggled in so the populace know what the rest of the world is like. I think Kim recognises that and wants to adapt. It must be really hard living permanently with crippling sanctions.

De neuclearise? fair enough but as Mrs V wryly observed today, The next big thing may well be biological warheads. He has the rocket delivery technology which presumably the West won't expect to be "got rid of". He certainly has singleminded scientists and plenty of miscreants to experiment on both effects and vaccine.

Yes, indeed, but you risk your own reputation if you are seen to be too matey with a bloke who is quite happy to "disappear" people, including members of his own family, if they prove inconvenient.

Trump must be used to the highlighted by now, however. ::)

Well at least he’s a man of action and he mostly answers questions put to him pretty much
Directly. That’s a very rare combination these days. There’s got to be someone in control,
Don’t agree wholly with his trade policies though although he has to be seen doing something.

Trump is supposed to be an expert deal maker, so you don't think it's just an escape policy for when the Russians are so disgusted that he was stupid enough to leave enough evidence for the FBI to prosecute, that they cut him off completely? He already has the Kim physique, so a new slightly darker bowl-cut wig weirdly tailored suit, and he'll be the new (chicken) Supreme Leader ;D

I always find it fascinating how we[the West that is]can tell anybody we chose that they can't have nukes while it's ok for us to have them :-X Hopefully something positive will come out of this summit and the following talks.negotiations
