Title: Autodata....
Post by: Webby the Bear on 13 December 2018, 22:07:56
...are a company that’s run by comedians.

Quoted a woman on a starter motor today for a 2012 Nissan Note. Autodata said 0.7hrs. When you see a time like that you know your luck is in........

Or is it 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Fcking thing. Expansion tank out. Plastic inlet tube out. Coolant hose, 2000 wiring harnesses right over two upper bolts. Took me ages and a bit of blood to get one of them out. Down below you’ve got about 4 inches of room to get it out. Oil filter housing off. Oil level sensor out. Unbelievable 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 my hand and arm is torn to shreds 🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕

Anyway rant over. On the upside my Moog rear track rods arrived. And I already had front ones so I’ll fit Saturday. Excited 😄😄😄😄

When it goes, I'll bring the A Class up to you so you can change the starter on that :y

Only two bolts and you can get a finger on it...

...once you've pulled the inlet manifold or dropped the engine ;D

Sounds similar to my Smart Roadster. It took me about 5 hours to remove & another to refit the new one.   ;)

You need to be careful young Webs, it's not like you've got a spare...

(If you take offence, I sincerely apologise, but I couldn't resist!)

Incidentally, do I remember that your place does tyres, or was it that it doesn't do tyres anymore because there's no money in it? I cannae remember.

A Montego alternator was a good job in its day
It only fitted between the track rod, rack and block in one perfect angle

Down below you’ve got about 4 inches ........

But I've got a long tongue which more than compensates.    ::) ;)

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 none taken. You’re absolutely right.... I don’t want to render myself a potato; thus I’ll use this as the excuse if any idiot ever wants a starter on a Note again 😂😂😂

Oh and yes, we do tyres. You supplying your own? If so what size? I ask cos our machine is so poor we struggle with lower profile ones 😄

I always look at Camskill for prices, but usually just end up paying whatever the tyre place quotes me  :-X ;D That was back when I had a local place that knew me, though. But it's for the BMW, which means they're 19" and (very) low profile (35 & 40 profile)..

Not guilty your honour - largely because I haven't owned an Omega for about five years now  ;)  ;D You'd need to spot a black Skoda (of which there are many around here!) or dark blue BMW 650i (that one is easier as it's on a private plate) .. or an "Ice Blue" (bright blue!) Smart.. though there's two of them in Northampton ;D

Trouble with buying tyres online/mail order is fitting.  Most place want at least £15 per tyre (and rightly so to cover costs), which makes it around the same sort of costs as a local fitted price...  ...and getting same place to supply and fit helps if there are issues down the line (I seem to suffer from quite a lot of tyre failures).

Yeah, exactly why I used to just get the place in Bracknell to supply & fit - the price difference was marginal (we are talking about a grands worth of rubber, after all) and then there's just one place to moan at if it all goes wrong!
