General Car Chat / Re: Replacing the Skoda..
« on: Yesterday at 21:00:31 »
We took a trip to Skoda today to see if they'd consider a part ex against a much smaller car to basically shift the car to being L's (something like a Skoda CitiGo) - and they would, but only if I paid them an extra 2400 to take it off my hands...

Ho hum, seems like I might be keeping it till the end of the finance agreement and then looking for something to buy outright; facelift L320 RR Sport, another Ranger Wildtrak, something silly..

Finance, it's a mugs game  :-[ :D

These PCP deals may be tempting with their low APR but in essence they are equivalent to renting a house as opposed to buying one.

After 2 or 3 years  and some 10-15000 later you own SFA.

These Panamanians play like ghetto footballers. I am no expert but why aren't they getting red cards for their antics.

95% are drug addicts the other 5% are drug dealers. :)

This should be quite simple.  ::)

If the EU don't give us full access to Galileo we deduct the billion we have invested from the 39 billion divorce bill and deny them use of places like the Falklands, Ascension, Diego Garcia and Pitcairn for the necessary base stations.  :)

Ah......if only life was so simple. :y

Brezhnev is dead??? I really must get a newer telly, although I hear the russkies how now launched a man into space......we'll be going to the moon next you mark my words :D :D ;D

I think 3 soviet leaders all died within a few weeks of each other if memory serves.

Brezhnev ( who held the reins for decades)  followed by Andropov and Chernenko had lasted about a week. ::)

The simple answer is that these projects need British money and expertise so they will form no part of Brexit :D ;)

I think we have already contributed over 1 billion to Galileo, Lizzie. :-* :-* :-*

Yep, and I have found this interesting pie chart on the ESA funding:
https://www.esa.int/About_Us/Welcome_to_ESA/Funding

Looks like the French contribute the most! ::) ::) ::) ;D ;)

It looks as though we are the 4th largest contributor after France, Germany and Italy.

I'm not sure how 'Europe' can stop us using it. Hmm. :-\

GPS I've heard of although I usually know whereabouts I am :D ;D Glonass I've never heard of so it would seem I can manage without it ::)

Soviet version of GPS........although it's not the USSR any more and Brezhnev is long dead.

Possibly worth a bob or two to an enthusiastic comic fan.

I'm guessing Roger the dodger and Lord Snooty don't feature. ;)

There was a time, not so very long ago, that France had little interest in enforcing speed limits.

What went wrong? :-\

Will we 'be allowed' use of this technology post Brexit?
