The presenter couldn't be more 'wooden' but for those of a certain age (old bastards) a trip down memory lane. :y

General Discussion Area / Cost of rent in the private rented sector.
« on: 09 September 2018, 12:44:07 »
Figures according to Homelet Rental Index.............July 2018.

UK average...................937
UK average excluding London......777
South East................. 1041
London .....................1615

The cheapest is the North East at 525.

These are just crazy figures. Presumably private renting is far more expensive than social housing rent.

How does anyone afford these rents?

My first thought was blocked scuttle drain like the Omega, but there doesn't seem to be much of anything behind the battery.

Windscreen seal itself?

Does TB's cull list extend to flying vermin?

General Car Chat / Hunter Hawkeye Kwik fit.
« on: 13 July 2018, 17:44:16 »
I'm confused. :-\

As far as I can see the figures bear no similarity to those from Jaguar......although they seem more comprehensive.

Another thing.

Why are the 'before' and 'current' measurement different? No adjustment was made so surely they should be the same. ??? ??? ???

General Car Chat / Opinion of wheel alignment experts sought.
« on: 13 July 2018, 12:31:49 »
I now have a printout of my tracking/wheel alignment test.

Can somebody decipher the results in simple terms.

162 to put right if I let Tata do it.

General Car Chat / Tata back, mirror fixed.....and then.
« on: 12 July 2018, 12:13:31 »
.....comes the "sell the customer things they don't need stage"

Apparently I need something called an 'aircon bomb' for 56. ??? ??? ???

And, apparently, my wheel geometry is all wrong so I require 4 wheel alignment at a cost of 162. I have asked for the printout for the procedure they performed. They don't have it. Hmmm.

My guess is they simply make it up as they go along.

General Discussion Area / Brexit Friday.
« on: 04 July 2018, 12:35:16 »
My understanding is Theresa May and her band of merry men have to come up with a 'concrete' vision of what the UK expects of Brexit by Friday. The EU is waiting. ::)

Should be easy enough to get everybody singing from the same hymn sheet......shouldn't it? 8) :D :D

General Car Chat / Problem with drivers door mirror (Tata)
« on: 01 July 2018, 17:46:22 »
It won't fold when I lock the car and makes a noise similar to a vibrating sex toy for about 20 seconds. I'm guessing the motor is f*ucked. :-

The other mirror is fine, both when locking the car, and closing the mirrors using the buttons inside the car.

Any ideas, chaps?

The car has a 2 year Jaguar warranty so I hope the mirrors are covered because I remember TB saying they can be costly to replace.

General Car Chat / Jag trip computer v brim to brim test
« on: 28 June 2018, 21:36:00 »
The trip computer reads 25.1 MPG for 111.8 miles.

It took 22.82 litres to completely fill the tank again.

Anyone any good at maths?.....because I  can't work it out. :-\
