Omega General Help / Temp sensor really confused

Hi I am a bit confused I had the car serviced by a Vauxhall specialist and asked them to look a cold start issue and non functioning gauge. They reported a failed sensor which talks to the ecu, they replaced this and had no problems with cold starts since and the gauge worked as well. About a month later the gauge stopped working again so sent it back to them to fix as I had already paid for it, They have just called me to say the sender sensor has failed in the V and not covered by the first repair and want more money to fix it. How many sensors are there? I feel I being played here, its the not the money its the principle, I have read the site and thought both sensors were in the V. Any advise appreciated as the sensors appear side by side.

Omega General Help / Scary episode

Well the car has been faultless for my ownership but just now was driving along and then engine cut out, luckily managed to coast into a layby, car would crank but not fire. left it for 5 mins cranked it and it started fine, then did the same again 10 mins later by which time I was nearly at my destination. Left it a couple of minutes and it restarted as before. Not a nice experience, has anybody else had this occur. Any advise appreciated as always.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Aux heater pump Fuse 24?

I have been having problems with my heating for a while and pulling my hair out with it. System flushed and matrix pretty clean to honest. Today I looked at the pump under the expansion tank, both pipes from heater matrix very hot and going into the pump however pump is not running so I investigated further.

According to the handbook Fuse 24 is for the coolant heating now I am guessing that is for the pump, no fuse in it. I duly tried to put in a pump and it fell straight out, very loose no grip whatsover. Fuse 25 next to it is fine which is for the sun roof which I don't have.

I checked the power to the pump dead, had my son hold a fuse in, still dead. My questions are:

Is this the correct fuse for the aux coolant pump or for a diesel fuel heater hence not used on a 2.6?
I have not taken the box off but can I jumper the connection across to the un-used fuse for the sunroof, I do not know how they are connected at the back of the box?
I tested the heater with the engine off when at temp heater fans come on for about 20 seconds then turn off, pump is cold and silent.

Lastly does the pump not working effect the heating to that extent?

Sorry for long rambling post but I am cold and tired. many thanks for any advise on the above in advance.

Omega General Help / Engine temp gauge

Took the car out today for a run and noticed the temp gauge barely moved off the bump stop, its always been lazy but has always moved towards the half way point. Heater, though hard to call it that, was blowing out its normal barely warm air even though the top and bottom heater hoses are too hot too keep your hand on so plenty of heat in the engine. Its a 2.6 just wondering if others have had this and can offer any advise.

Hi all
On our Corsa C when you press the remote once only the drivers door unlocks, press it again and the other 3 doors unlock, on my Omega when you unlock the car all doors unlock, is there a setting that can be changed so that the system behaves the same as the Corsa by chance?

Omega General Help / Heating question

Hi all

Sorry I have searched and this subject has been covered on a few occasions but I am still confused. I know the Omega heating is not great but mine is warm at best. Engine temp is fine, but the air from the vents even on 26 is not very warm and the rear vents in the console are ice cold. I had the engine to temperature and checked the pipes from the expansion tank to the bulk head they are very hot so plenty of heat there just not much in the car. All the flaps seem to be working fine in the centre console when you divert the air from screen to face to feet.

I had a new rad fitted about a month ago but its never been great to be honest, I am loosing no coolant and had no oil cooler issues and the water is nice and clean.

I have massaged the pipes as suggested in case of an airlock but has done no difference.

Would this be a blocked heater matrix or HBV (whatever that is) I drove back from Luton today in a coat.

Again sorry if this has been done to death but, not sure what to do as I am no mechanic apart from take it to the garage.

Omega General Help / Time to change a 2.6 V6 Radiator change

How long does it take to change a rad on a facelift V6, mine split and the garage I used replaced it but they charged me 4 hours of labour which included adjusting the hand brake, before I go back to them to query I thought I would ask the forum, I am no mechanic but it seems excessive.

Omega General Help / Interior Trim

Good day all

What were the facelift trim colours available? I have the beige interior on the CD was the Elite leather the same colour or was the elite offered in other colours apart from the charcoal and beige?

Reason for the question is that I have seen a leather interior describe as cream and the photo I got sent it looks pale but then that may be the camera and sunlight.

I need to replace the rad in my 2002 2.6 V6 auto, a lot of sites list them as being all the same or just the 2.5/3.0 are listed even for a 2002 are they all the same rads or do a need a specfic for the 2.6?

My outside temp is reading 26c so I think the sensor may need replacing can someone tell me where it is please. Car is a 2002 model year.

I need to replace a relay under the bonnet by the battery but I can't shift it, am I doing something wrong or being thick? The ones on my Mitsubishi just lift out with very little effort, this one wont move and I dont want to break anything.

HI

I am replacing the aerial in the roof with a dab one, does anybody know the size of the hole so I ensure I get the right bolt size to go through. Also has anybody else fitted a dab aerial, I have been looking at the JVC HAL 3, Hirshmann and Kinetic antennas all have different through body hole sizes.
