Omega General Help / GEAR STICK REMOVAL
« on: 17 September 2017, 18:20:05 »
Hi all, is it possible to remove the entire gear stick from inside the car, or do you need to disconnect any parts from under the car as well. The reverse lift collar under the gear knob has split due to heat during the summer months and i have a replacement stick to fit.

General Car Chat / surface rust
« on: 20 March 2016, 23:21:35 »
Hi all, a lass i know has just bought a second hand ford maverick on a 51 plate and a real minter it is too, 32,000 gen miles, full history, the question i have is that the rear lower arms are covered in a surface rust from where i guess it has been sitting about not being used much. is there a SPRAY ON RUST TREATMENTthat will kill and coat the surfaces with a long lasting protection or will a coat of wax oil do the same thing, there is no signs of any holes just this surface coating on the underside.
I dont fancy wire brushing the whole car to do it if there is an easy fix.

General Car Chat / cam covers
« on: 04 June 2015, 20:53:43 »
About 6 weeks ago i replaced the passenger side cam cover with a new item. as several attempted goes at stopping the plug wells filling with oil, and failed.
So off to my local dealer who sold me a new cover.
I was told that the old type cover for the engines with plug leads had been changed and the only type availible was for the cars with cop.
Ok that will have to do then.WRONG.
So yesterday i went to another branch of the same group and ordered the drivers side, lol and behold what turns up the correct cover for cars with plug leads. very very pleased but i bang my head on the wall when dealing with dealer parts depts. so i now will have 2 new covers and 2 different types, will the cop covers last longer due to the improved cooling with large holes? We will see. watch this space.........

Omega General Help / V6 Stalling
« on: 22 March 2015, 18:07:27 »
As per title no idle on 2.5 v6 after a dis pack change, have had the plenum off twice now and checked for air leaks and split vac pipes, found no splits or air leaks.
I have also removed the intake manifold and cleaned everything to within an inch of life and checked all seals and refitted all very carefully.
Car runs and idles lovely untill warm at which point it then hunts and eventually dies.
Car starts first time every time but refuses to idle.
VERY CONFUSED. :-\
