10ltrs of ATF should be about £70 depending on your choice and 1 hour at you local £60 per hour man and you get change for a pint and a pie out of £150 and the knowledge that you have done the gearbox a good turn.

Slightly more if you get the sump dropped and filter replaced .

A man of your wealth is just pocket change  ;D

Agree with changing the oil and filter.

Every auto I,ve owned has benefitted from new ATF irrespective of the marketing mumbo-jumbo about being "sealed for life".Oil deteriorates and as you obviously intend keeping the car for the cost I would just get it done .

Mine used to give poor reception so I did the following upgrade.

Replaced the original roof aerial with a solid short whip...it had an amplifier in the base which required a 12 volt feed.

Reconfigured the nav connection from the drivers kick panel to a front screen mounted small mag mount which gave really strong signal.

Quite a fiddly job as the nav connection was an F plug if I remember correctly so needed some ingenuity on the cable connections but got there eventually .

Both gave a really strong signal and whip aerial on roof could be unscrewed as required

Cars for Sale & wanted / 2003 Black 3.2 Elite Saloon For Sale
« on: 19 August 2023, 11:51:59 »
Time has come to depart with a well trusted car which I have owned for the past 10 years but due to work finishing I we no longer require 2 cars.

Brief description as  I,m sure all reading this will know what they look like and what they have, and as I have never ever worked out how to put up pictures onto forum I am happy to send over extensive pictures if you PM with email addy.

Registered 28/07/2003..on KT03 EVG just so you can check MOT history

MOT until 28/11/2023..Oil/Filters every 6k and well maintained as it was my work car.

Black Saloon Elite 3.2

Mileage is 203,000

Mechanically sound..not due belt/roller change for 10k as done by Serek in March 2020 along with gearbox filter/oil and mid section exhausts.

Body work needs attention as paintwork is going flat/usual rust appearing on both rear arches but hasnt broken surface.Really requires a respray as numerous dents from incident with neighbours wall in 2020.I intended getting it completely repaired but time just moved on and as it doesnt affect driving it has become less of an annoyance now.

4 Good Continental Tyres although alloys could do with a refurb too.

Irmscher Wood Steering Wheel/Irmscher Black Front Grille/Remus Stainless Steel twin exit back box.Colour NCDC 2013 with Parrot blue tooth phone kit and Road Angel speed display head up fitted.Proper Phillips Day light running lights fitted and correctly wired up.

Drivers seat heater stopped working last winter/sat nav disc sometimes slow to load but maps are well out of date now although have 2 discs from 2011.

4 CD magazines/jack and spare along with GM tool kit.

I,m looking for £500 which I think is realistic as I dont want to haggle or have endless visits to view /kick tyres and suck through teeth.

Would be ideal for any Elite owners as a doner car as may parts are unavailable now and this car has had many new parts replaced over the years all with good life left.

Any other questions or multiple pictures just PM please.

Had a fairly major buckle on an Irmscher wheel on previous car done by Lepsons at Gillingham .Kent.

Would regularly loose air over space of few days and as you got really fed up keep pumping it up at all hours of the day.

Lepsons is quite Old School and will repair or refurbish as required and they also offer collection and delivery but imagine the costs to Dorset and back would be pricey...but just my experience they did a very god job

Think I have cured problem ....took both new bulbs out and replaced with cheap set I got from Hellfrauds yesterday just to see if throwing £3=00 at it made any difference.

Amazed as no warning message has appeared on my 100 mile drive to work and back this morning even in the rain.

Fingers crossed problem resolved but strange 2 sets of working bulbs had the issue and cheap set doesnt....well so far

You may well be spot on with that DG as it’s only recently started and puzzling all 3 lights are working .

Just hope it dries out as warning message is becoming tiresome

Sorry to drag this back up again .

Both rear brake light bulbs replaced with new  Osram brand and despite all 3 working with and without night lights warning message still appears .

Seems to be on first brake after start up and will continue for 12 or more stops then like magic doesn’t re appear for hour or more driving then randomly pops back up again despite all 3 still working .

Assume there is a check box or similar ?… do they fail ?? or produce intermittent errors

It is needed to lock things together so it should not be removed ,just make the bolt hole bigger as it gives a bit more assistance in aligning the bolt when the 3 parts are in place and in the correct order ,

You will notice the bracket on the transfer pipe also has a slight groove to keep the bracket of the dipstick tube in place

I found running a 10mm drill bit through the lifting eye made it much easier as you then have a bit of wiggle room lining up 3 things and a bolt that is going in at less than ideal angle and a working space designed for triple jointed long fingered contortionists .

You will never ever be using the lifting eye on these ages of car now and its realy only acting as a spacer .

Regarding the 2 stat housing bolts a couple of stainless washers will help if you dont get a new housing with the thicker shoulders t match what should be fitted as OE.
