Firstly the background. At the end of last March Maureen took herself off to hospital on her motability scooter for her regular INR blood test to determine the doseage of wharfrin she needed. While there she reported a slight blood loss over the previous few days and was immediately admitted. Her wharfrin was stopped and she was given injections of something else so blood loss could be stopped and cause investigated.Couple of days later[April 1st]she had massive stroke and although not expected to survive she did so,eventually passed fit by stroke unit and returned home.Three days after this she was re-admitted with a huge blood loss which due to her stroke they'd not investigated.Blood loss stopped, investigation of cause revealed she had piles, eventually returned home and recovery went slowly and steadily until 14th February this year when 2nd stroke hit, again not expected to survive but she did-in fact visiting her next day you'd not have thought anything had happened the previous evening!Passed as fit to return home on the following Tuesday she returned on the Wednesday afternoon.Thursday evening 3rd stroke hit and she passed away early on the Friday.Last week I had a phone call from her own doctor who'd signed the medical certificate of death[charging £160 for this service!]asking me to tell him how she'd died!!!?Just now got another phone call from a doctor at a totally different practice saying his information was that she'd had a fall suffered a stroke and died in ambulance on way to hospital.I told him there was no fall yes a stroke and no she'd died in hospital. Then he asked if I thought there was anything untoward in her death! How do I know?she had a stroke was admitted to hospital and died a short while later. Are they covering their backs in case of a law suit which I'd never considered filing?Or is this just standard procedure? Apologies for long post.
